Kareri Lake,Himachal
Kareri Lake (also spelled Kareri Taal) is a high-altitude oligotrophic freshwater lake located at about 2,934 meters (9,621 ft) in the Dhauladhar range near Dharamshala, Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. It is an important natural landmark for local ecology, fed by monsoon rains and melting snow, serving as a water source for nearby villages and habitat for trout and native alpine flora. The lake lies on an ancient shepherding and pilgrimage route; nearby villages have a long tradition of pastoralism. Its proximity to the Dhauladhar range makes it a gateway for treks deeper into the Himalaya, including the popular Kareri to Minkiani Pass and Kareri–Triund routes.
