Best accessed by road. Nearest major town: Dalhousie (~24 km). Nearest airport: Gaggal (Dharamshala) — approximately 80–90 km by road. Nearest major railway station: Pathankot — around 110–120 km. Regular taxis and buses connect Dalhousie, Chamba, and nearby towns; local roads can be steep and narrow.

1–2 days is sufficient to explore Khajjiar and nearby viewpoints; combine with Dalhousie or Chamba for a longer trip (3–4 days).

Layered clothing, warm jacket for mornings/evenings, waterproof outerwear in monsoon, sturdy walking shoes; in winter bring heavy woolens, gloves, and thermal wear.
