Triund Hill,Himachal
Natural importance: Triund is a high-altitude ridge in the Dhauladhar range near Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj, Himachal Pradesh. It offers sweeping panoramic views of the Dhauladhar peaks, Kangra valley and is an accessible example of alpine meadows and Himalayan ecology. The trek and campsite are important to local tourism and support village economies through guiding, portering and small businesses.
Cultural context: Triund sits close to Dharamshala and McLeod Ganj — centres of Tibetan culture in exile — so visits often combine natural experiences with Tibetan cultural visits, monasteries and local handicrafts.
