Start at Telok Blangah MRT (Exit A) or park near Telok Blangah Hill Park. Follow signage to the Southern Ridges/Henderson Waves.
Ascend to Henderson Waves and explore the bridge
Spend time photographing the wave structure and resting in the sheltered alcoves. Beware of slippery boards after rain.
Walk the Forest Walk and connect to Alexandra Arch
Enjoy elevated boardwalks through mature trees and look for birds. The route is mostly shaded.
Cross Alexandra Arch and head to Mount Faber Park
Short climbs to viewpoints. Mount Faber offers panoramic vistas and cafes nearby if you want a break.
Optional descent to Harbourfront / continue to Labrador Nature Reserve
You can end at Harbourfront (for MRT/shopping) or extend to Labrador Nature Reserve for coastal views and WWII heritage.
Safety Requirements
Carry sufficient water — tropical climate causes quick dehydration.
Wear sturdy walking shoes; some sections have stairs and uneven surfaces.
Check weather before you go — bridges and boardwalks can be slippery when wet and lightning is a risk during storms.
Use sun protection (hat, sunscreen) on exposed sections.
Keep to designated paths and avoid disturbing wildlife.
Tips
Timing: Visit at sunrise for quiet trails or at sunset for dramatic skies; avoid the midday heat.
Photography: The best angles of Henderson Waves are from either end and from the sheltered alcoves — use wide-angle for the ribbed structure.
Transport: Nearest MRT — Telok Blangah (for Henderson Waves) or HarbourFront for other access points. Bus and taxi access are easy.
Accessibility: Some sections include steps and steep ramps; the route is not fully wheelchair accessible.
Facilities: Limited restrooms and water points on the trail — refill before starting and at Mount Faber if needed.
Safety at night: Some parts are dimly lit after dusk; stick to populated areas if walking late.
