Shri Mangueshi Temple,Goa

Legends & Stories: Tradition holds that the temple's main idol was brought to its present area by devotees fleeing coastal sites during Portuguese rule; local lore also speaks of miraculous discoveries of the idol near a waterbody and of the deity protecting the local community. Over time the shrine acquired many local legends linking it with regional saints and patron families.
