October to March offers dry weather with temperatures between 20–32°C and calm seas suitable for swimming and water sports. Beach shacks operate fully and nightlife remains active. Summer (March–May) reaches 36°C with fewer crowds and lower accommodation rates. Monsoon season (June–September) brings heavy rainfall and rough seas that suspend most beach activities. Many beach shacks close during monsoons, though hotels offer significant discounts. Christmas and New Year represent peak season with maximum crowds and highest prices. Waterfalls reach peak flow during monsoon months due to increased rainfall.

Goa has two airports: Manohar International Airport (GOX) in North Goa and Dabolim Airport (GOI) serving Central/South Goa. Both receive direct flights from major Indian cities and seasonal international connections. Major railway stations include Madgaon, Thivim, Karmali, and Vasco da Gama, connected via Konkan Railway. By road, NH 66 coastal highway and NH 48 via Western Ghats connect Goa to Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. Overnight buses operate frequently from these cities. Travel time from Mumbai is 8–10 hours by road and 1.5 hours by flight.

Visa requirements for Goa depend on your nationality. Indian citizens need valid government-issued photo ID. Foreign tourists require an Indian visa through tourist visa, e-visa, or visa-on-arrival for eligible countries. E-visas are available online for most nationalities with validity periods of 30–365 days depending on visa type. Processing takes 2–4 business days. Passports must have minimum 6 months validity remaining and blank pages for entry stamps. Citizens of Bhutan and Nepal do not need visas but must carry valid identification documents. Rental scooters and motorbikes are the most popular transportation in Goa. Original license and helmets are required by law. Motorcycle taxis called 'pilots' operate throughout Goa for solo travelers. Regular taxis and app-based services like GoaMiles provide rides across the state. Kadamba state buses and private buses connect major towns and beaches at low cost. River ferries run frequently to islands like Divar and Chorao. Auto-rickshaws operate in limited areas. Car rentals with drivers are available for longer trips. Negotiate fares in advance for taxis and pilots, or use metered and app-based services for fixed pricing.

North Goa offers active nightlife and water sports in Calangute, Candolim, Anjuna, and Vagator with budget guesthouses and luxury resorts. South Goa provides quieter beaches in Colva, Benaulim, Palolem, and Agonda with upscale resorts. Panaji has heritage hotels near cultural sites. Budget hostels cost ₹500–1500 per night. Mid-range hotels and beach resorts range ₹2000–8000 per night. Luxury properties including Taj, W Goa, and Alila Diwa start at ₹15000 per night. Beach huts and homestays are available throughout both regions. December–January requires advance booking due to peak season demand.

Goa's major attractions include the UNESCO World Heritage churches in Old Goa: Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral. Panaji's Fontainhas Quarter displays Portuguese colonial architecture. North Goa features Chapora Fort, Anjuna's Wednesday flea market, and Calangute–Baga beaches. Dudhsagar Falls is a four-tier waterfall located 60km from Panaji. South Goa contains Palolem, Agonda, and Cola beaches. Fort Aguada overlooks the Arabian Sea. Divar Island requires a ferry from Old Goa. Ponda district has spice plantations. Mandovi River offers evening cruises. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary spans 1.8 square kilometers on Chorao Island. Tambdi Surla Temple dates to the 12th century.

Goan cuisine blends Portuguese and Konkani influences. Essential dishes include fish curry with rice, pork vindaloo, chicken cafreal with green masala, and chicken xacuti made with coconut and spices. Seafood preparations feature rava-fried fish, prawn balchão, and grilled fish at beach shacks. Local breads are poi and pão. Traditional desserts include bebinca, a layered sweet, and dodol. Feni, distilled from cashew or coconut palm, is Goa's signature alcoholic drink. Seasonal urrak is also available. Recommended restaurants include Vinayak Family Restaurant, Kokni Kanteen, and Martin's Corner. Vegetarian options include sol kadhi, Goan dal, and coconut-based curries. Fish thali offers multiple preparations in one meal.
