Bali's dry season runs April–October with minimal rainfall and temperatures of 25–31°C. July–September offers the coolest weather at 24–28°C but brings highest prices and crowds. April–June provides good weather with fewer tourists. The wet season spans November–March, featuring daily tropical showers lasting 1–2 hours, typically in late afternoon. Hotels offer lowest rates during wet season. The island closes completely during Nyepi (Day of Silence) on March 29, 2025 — all transportation including airports stops for 24 hours. Temperatures remain consistent year-round between 25–31°C. Flight prices from India increase 20–30% during July–September peak season.

Fly to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar. Vistara operates daily direct flights from Delhi, and IndiGo flies daily from Bengaluru. Direct flight time is 5–6 hours. From other Indian cities, connect through Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, or Jakarta using Singapore Airlines, AirAsia, or Garuda Indonesia. Connecting flights take 7–10 hours total. Peak season runs July–September with higher prices. The airport is 15 minutes from Kuta and 45 minutes from Ubud by taxi or private transfer.

Indians can obtain a 30-day Visa on Arrival (VOA) at Bali airport for IDR 500,000 (₹2,800) or apply for an e-VOA online through the official MOLINA portal before travel. The visa can be extended once for an additional 30 days. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from arrival date.

From February 14, 2024, all foreign visitors must pay a Bali Tourist Levy of IDR 150,000 (₹850) once per trip. Pay online via the official Love Bali portal or app before arrival and retain the QR receipt. Use only official websites to avoid scams.

Grab and Gojek ride-hailing apps operate throughout Bali for cars and motorbikes. Blue Bird Group provides metered taxis with app booking. Scooter rentals cost ₹300–500 per day and require an International Driving Permit, helmet, and insurance. Police conduct frequent checks and issue fines for violations. Kura-Kura Bus runs shuttle service between major tourist areas. Private car hire with driver costs ₹2,500–4,000 per day for longer distances. The Bali Mandara Toll Road connects Ngurah Rai Airport to Nusa Dua in 30 minutes. Public buses (Trans Sarbagita) run limited routes with basic facilities and infrequent schedules. Traditional bemos operate on fixed routes but mainly serve locals.

Bali has six main accommodation areas. Seminyak features upscale beach clubs and restaurants. Canggu attracts surfers and younger visitors. Ubud centers on culture and wellness activities. Sanur caters to families. Nusa Dua houses luxury resorts. Uluwatu offers clifftop locations. Budget hostels cost ₹800–2,000 per night. Mid-range hotels and boutique properties range ₹3,000–8,000 per night. Luxury resorts start at ₹25,000+ per night. Villa rentals are available for groups or extended stays. Notable luxury properties include Alila Villas Uluwatu, Mandapa Ritz-Carlton in Ubud, and AYANA Resort in Jimbaran. Peak season runs July–September. Most hotels provide airport transfers and tour booking services.

Bali's major attractions include Uluwatu Temple with sunset kecak dance performances and Tanah Lot sea temple. Ubud features Tegallalang rice terraces, Sacred Monkey Forest, and traditional art markets. Mount Batur offers sunrise trekking and hot springs. Tirta Empul temple conducts water blessing ceremonies. Jatiluwih displays UNESCO-listed rice terraces. Nusa Penida island contains Kelingking Beach and manta ray snorkeling sites. Beach destinations include Seminyak's beach clubs, Canggu's surf breaks, and Sanur's calm waters. Temples require modest dress covering shoulders and knees. Plan 7–10 days to visit major sites without rushing between locations.

Bali's signature dishes include Babi Guling (suckling pig), Bebek Betutu (slow-cooked duck), Sate Lilit (minced meat satay), and Ayam Betutu (spiced chicken). Vegetarian dishes are Gado-Gado (vegetable salad with peanut sauce), Nasi Campur (rice with mixed sides), and Lawar (spiced mixed vegetables).
