November to April offers the most favorable weather across Vietnam. Northern Vietnam (Hanoi, Ha Long Bay) has comfortable temperatures from November to March, with December–January being the coolest months. Central Vietnam (Hoi An, Da Nang) has optimal beach conditions February to August, but experiences heavy rains and typhoons September–November. Southern Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta) has dry, sunny weather November–April. Mountain regions like Sa Pa have clear views and moderate temperatures in October–November and March–April. May–August brings hot, humid conditions nationwide. Central Vietnam's monsoon season in September–October should be avoided due to heavy rainfall and storm risk.

Direct flights operate from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru to Vietnam's three main airports: Hanoi (HAN), Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), and Da Nang (DAD). Flight time ranges from 4.5–6 hours. Airlines serving these routes include VietJet, Vietnam Airlines, and IndiGo. One-stop connections are available via Bangkok, Singapore, or Kuala Lumpur with more departure times. Phu Quoc and Nha Trang airports provide direct access to beach destinations. Peak season flights (November–February) require advance booking for better fares. Compare prices across all entry points, as Da Nang or Phu Quoc can sometimes cost less than Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City routes.

Indian citizens require a visa for Vietnam. E-visas can be obtained through the official government portal and are processed within 3–5 working days. E-visas allow single or multiple entries for up to 30 days. Passports must have at least 6 months validity and blank pages. Print the e-visa approval letter and carry it during travel. Boats and ferries are necessary for reaching coastal areas and islands. Train journeys offer countryside views and opportunities to meet locals.

Hanoi's Old Quarter provides walking access to major attractions, while the French Quarter has upscale hotels near Hoan Kiem Lake. In Hoi An, the Ancient Town contains boutique hotels within the historic center, and An Bang Beach offers beachfront resorts. Da Nang's My Khe Beach area features oceanfront hotels.
