For rail travel, Jammu Tawi is the nearest railway station, located 290 kilometers from Srinagar. From Jammu, buses and taxis cover the distance to Srinagar in 8–10 hours via National Highway 44. State-run and private buses operate daily services from Delhi, Chandigarh, and other cities. The Delhi–Srinagar bus journey takes approximately 12–14 hours. Taxi services are available from Jammu railway station, with fares typically ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 for the Jammu–Srinagar route.
