Itinerary
Arrival, Settling in & Sunset Shikara Ride
Arrive in Srinagar and transfer to your hotel or traditional houseboat on Dal Lake. Take time to unwind and enjoy the floating tranquility. Late afternoon, board a classic Shikara for a gentle ride on Dal Lake — soak in the sunset and views of the Himalayan foothills. Evening welcome dinner featuring mild Kashmiri dishes and a briefing about the next days.
Tip: Keep your camera handy for the golden hour reflections on the water.
Mughal Gardens & Old City Food Walk
After breakfast, visit the Mughal Gardens — Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — noted for their symmetrical terraces and floral displays. Return to town for a curated Old City walking tour focused on local cuisine: street snacks, bakeries, and a guided tasting of Kashmiri specialties culminating in a family-style Wazwan sampler at a local eatery.
Special note: The food walk is family-friendly; vegetarian options available on request.
Day Trip to Gulmarg — Gondola & Meadows (Optional Activities)
Enjoy a scenic drive to Gulmarg, a popular family destination. Explore alpine meadows, ride the Gondola (Phase I & II - optional paid upgrade) for panoramic views, and try short pony rides or simple nature walks depending on the family's energy levels. Return to Srinagar in the evening and relax aboard your houseboat or hotel.
Note: Gulmarg weather can be cooler — carry light jackets. Gondola tickets are seasonal and payable on-site.
Leisure Morning, Local Markets & Departure
Enjoy a relaxed morning — savor a traditional Kashmiri breakfast on the houseboat or at the hotel. Visit nearby local markets for souvenirs such as pashmina shawls, saffron, and handcrafted papier-mâché items. Transfer to Srinagar Airport for your onward journey.
Tip: Allow extra time for airport transfer during peak traffic. Keep small change ready for local purchases.

Kashmir Cabs and Rooms Both Left Us Speechless
We had been putting off a Kashmir trip for two years, mostly because neither my husband nor I trusted random operators. A friend suggested TourGrids, and honestly, the decision paid off. The hotels they booked — especially the houseboat in Srinagar and the resort in Gulmarg — were proper good, well above what I was expecting at that price point. What really stood out was how clean and prompt the cab transfers were. Every morning the driver was already waiting, no delays, no confusion about routes. The team sorted everything on call before we even landed. No surprise charges either, which matters a lot when you're travelling as a couple on a fixed budget.
Our Kashmir Coordinator Never Left Us Guessing
We booked our Kashmir trip through TourGrids for our anniversary, and honestly the coordinator assigned to us — Rahul — was the real reason everything went well. Right from the planning stage, he was available on WhatsApp at odd hours, patiently answering every small question my husband and I had. When our Srinagar hotel had a room issue on day two, he got it fixed within the hour without us having to chase anyone. The itinerary was properly planned around what we wanted — not some copy-paste package. Hotels were proper good, cabs were always on time. No surprise charges at the end either. That kind of support genuinely makes a difference when you're travelling somewhere new.
First Time Trusting a Company With Kashmir
I'll be honest — booking a full trip through a travel company felt risky to me. My husband and I had always planned things ourselves, so handing over Kashmir to someone else was a little nerve-wracking. But TourGrids genuinely surprised us. Our coordinator Priya was available on WhatsApp throughout, answered every anxious question without making me feel like I was being annoying, and the itinerary she built around our dates was actually thoughtful — not just a copy-paste package. Hotels were proper good, cab driver was punctual, no hidden charges when we settled up. The whole trip just... worked. That kind of reliability is rare, and it means a lot when you're travelling somewhere as beautiful as Kashmir.
