Arrival in Srinagar — Houseboat Check-in & Evening Shikara Ride
Welcome to Srinagar. Arrive at Srinagar Airport and meet your representative for a private transfer to your iconic houseboat on Dal Lake. After check-in and some leisure time, enjoy a serene Shikara ride on Dal Lake at sunset — glide past floating gardens, local markets and the famous Char Chinar island. Later, enjoy traditional Kashmiri cuisine on the houseboat.
Important: Houseboat check-in is usually in the afternoon; early arrivals can store luggage and freshen up before boarding the shikara.
Mughal Gardens & Old Srinagar Exploration
After breakfast on the houseboat, set out for a half-day of classic sights: visit Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — the famed Mughal gardens with terraced lawns, fountains, and panoramic lake views. In the afternoon explore Old Srinagar: stroll through the bustling bazaars, see traditional crafts (pashmina, papier-mâché) and visit iconic landmarks. Finish the day with a short drive up to Shankaracharya Temple for sunset panoramic views of the valley and Dal Lake.
Tip: Carry small change for bargaining in local markets and wear comfortable shoes for garden walks.
Optional Gulmarg Day Excursion — Meadows & Gondola
Today choose between a relaxing day in Srinagar or an optional full-day excursion to Gulmarg (approx. 2–2.5 hours each way). In Gulmarg enjoy alpine meadows, pine forests and (seasonal) snow. Take the famous Gondola ride — one of the highest cable car experiences in the world — or simply stroll the meadow and enjoy the Himalayan vistas. Return to Srinagar in the evening for overnight on the houseboat/hotel.
Note: Gulmarg activities (gondola, skiing, pony rides) are seasonal and require extra charges.
Leisure Morning, Final Shikara Ride & Departure
Enjoy a leisurely morning with a final short Shikara ride or visit any missed local spots. Check out from your houseboat/hotel and proceed for airport transfer based on your flight schedule. Depart with beautiful memories of this short Kashmir Honeymoon package.
