Itinerary
Arrival and Transfer to Mai Chau
Pick-up from Hanoi (Old Quarter or airport) in the morning and enjoy a scenic 3–4 hour drive through karst landscapes to Mai Chau. On arrival check in to your traditional Thai homestay in Lac Village. After a light lunch, take a gentle orientation biking loop (approx. 6–12 km) to stretch legs and visit nearby stilt houses and rice paddies. Evening welcome dinner with the host family and an introduction to local culture.
Tip: Wear comfortable shoes for the short village walk; helmets and bikes are provided.
Full-Day Countryside Biking: Rice Terraces & Villages
After breakfast, set out on a guided full-day bike route across rice terraces, small hamlets and country lanes. Explore Pom Coong Village, Van Village, and lesser-known footpaths that reveal panoramic valley views. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a scenic spot and meet local farmers. In the late afternoon return to the homestay for a traditional home-cooked dinner.
Activity level: Moderate (mixed gravel and paved roads). E-bikes available on request.
Local Market Visit, Cultural Encounters and Hidden Valley Ride
Early start to visit a nearby local market (timing depends on market day) to experience daily village life and sample local snacks. Continue with a guided bike ride into a quieter hidden valley to visit an ethnic family's house, learn about weaving or rice farming, and enjoy a light trek to a nearby viewpoint or small waterfall. Evening free to relax or join a cultural performance depending on the homestay schedule.
Important: Market days vary; if there is no market that day, we replace it with an extended village exploration and craft workshop.
Pa Coong Trail and Village Workshops
Today's ride follows quieter farm tracks to the Pa Coong viewpoint and surrounding trails. Stop for photos and a picnic lunch with valley views. In the afternoon join a hands-on workshop — weaving, bamboo craft or a simple cooking class — hosted by local artisans. Spend the evening at leisure in the homestay, enjoying sunset views over the paddy fields.
Tip: Carry a light rain jacket in wet season; trails can be slippery after rain.
Morning Ride, Farewell and Return to Hanoi
Enjoy a final short morning ride through the village for last photos and goodbyes. After breakfast, transfer back to Hanoi with a stop at a scenic viewpoint near Hoa Binh for a coffee and photos. Arrival in Hanoi early afternoon; drop-off at your hotel or the airport marks the end of the package.
Note: Transfers and timing can be adjusted to fit flight schedules.

Vietnam Felt Safe Because Someone Had Our Back
First time booking through a travel company and honestly I was nervous about handing over money without knowing how things would turn out. My wife and I had been wanting to do Vietnam for a while but the visa, flights, hotels — all of it felt overwhelming to plan ourselves. TourGrids sorted the entire thing over a few WhatsApp conversations. Our coordinator was reachable throughout, answered every small doubt without making us feel like we were bothering anyone. Hotels were proper good — not budget, not over the top, exactly what we had asked for. No surprise charges at the end either. Vietnam exceeded our expectations and a lot of that credit goes to how well the ground work was laid before we even landed.
Vietnam Itinerary Built Over One WhatsApp Chat
We were planning our first international trip as a couple and honestly had no idea where to start with Vietnam. A friend suggested TourGrids, so I dropped them a message on WhatsApp and within the hour someone from the team called back. We spoke for maybe 30–40 minutes — they asked about our pace, what we wanted to skip, budget, everything. The itinerary they sent back actually reflected that conversation, not some copy-paste template. Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An — sequenced properly, hotels were proper good, cabs pre-arranged at every stop. No surprises on billing either, what they quoted is what we paid. The whole planning process genuinely felt effortless.
Vietnam Hotels Felt Chosen, Not Just Booked
We almost went with a random travel agent but a friend suggested TourGrids, and honestly that was the right call. My husband and I did Vietnam last month — Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An — and the properties TourGrids arranged were genuinely good. Not just decent-for-the-price good, actually good. The Ha Long Bay cruise cabin was beautiful and the Hoi An resort had this lovely courtyard view. Cabs were always on time, drivers were tracked, no last-minute confusion at any transfer point. I'd been nervous about handovers between cities but everything connected properly. Coordinator Priya was reachable throughout and sorted a room preference issue on call before we even arrived.
Vietnam Because Our Coordinator Owned Every Problem
We had a connecting flight issue on day two in Vietnam — my husband and I were completely lost at Da Nang airport, no clue who to call. Messaged our TourGrids coordinator Priya on WhatsApp and she replied within minutes, sorted the cab rerouting and hotel check-in time on call before we even reached the property. The whole Vietnam itinerary was already well thought out — Hanoi, Ha Long, Hoi An, all properly spaced. Hotels were proper good, no nasty surprises at checkout, no hidden charges. What actually stood out was that Priya felt like she was traveling with us, just remotely. That kind of support changes the whole experience.
Vietnam Hotel Swap at 11 PM, Done
We landed in Hanoi and the hotel had given away our room — no warning, no explanation. My husband was ready to lose it. I messaged our TourGrids coordinator, Priya, almost expecting to deal with it ourselves. Within 20 minutes she had us shifted to a different property, same area, honestly a better room than what we'd originally booked. She stayed on call until we checked in and confirmed everything was fine. Rest of the Vietnam trip — Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, the whole thing — went exactly as planned. No surprise charges, no chasing anyone. For a first international trip as a couple, that one night told us everything we needed to know about who we'd booked with.
Vietnam Planned Around What We Actually Wanted
My husband and I had been pushing our Vietnam trip for almost two years, mostly because planning it felt overwhelming. A friend suggested TourGrids, and honestly, one call with their team changed everything. They asked proper questions — our pace, food preferences, whether we wanted more beaches or cities — and built the itinerary around that. No standard package being pushed on us. Everything was on WhatsApp after that, and they responded fast, even on weekends. Hotels were proper good, nothing felt random or filler. They adjusted two nights in Hoi An when I asked, no fuss at all. No surprise costs when it came to final billing either.
