Itinerary
Arrival & Gentle Introduction to Spiritual Hanoi
Arrive at Noi Bai International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Hanoi. Settle in and refresh. In the late afternoon, enjoy a relaxed cyclo or walking orientation through the Old Quarter, circle Hoan Kiem Lake, and visit Ngoc Son Temple. Welcome dinner with an introduction to the pilgrimage itinerary.
Tip: Try light, modest clothing for temple visits; many sites require covered shoulders and knees.
Hanoi Spiritual Landmarks & Cultural Evening
Explore Ba Dinh Square and the key spiritual and historical sites: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Presidential Palace, and the iconic One Pillar Pagoda — an important Buddhist symbol. Continue to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's historic center for Confucian learning and scholarly pilgrimage. In the evening, attend a traditional Water Puppet performance in the Old Quarter.
Important: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays — schedule subject to government hours.
Full-Day Pilgrimage to the Perfume Pagoda (Chua Huong)
Depart early for the Perfume Pagoda area in My Duc. Begin with a scenic boat ride along the Yen Stream to the base of the pagoda complex. Visit Thien Tru Pagoda, and either climb the scenic steps or take the cable car to the mountaintop Huong Tich Cave — the heart of the pilgrimage. Explore nearby grottoes, shrines, and enjoy panoramic views. Return to Hanoi in the evening.
Note: The boat ride is approximately 45–60 minutes each way depending on water levels. Bring a light rain jacket in the wet season.
Pagodas, Lakes & Local Craft: Tran Quoc & Bat Trang
Morning visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda on West Lake (Ho Tay) — one of Hanoi's oldest Buddhist temples. Continue to Quan Thanh Temple, a Taoist-Buddhist site with a giant bronze statue. After a local lunch, travel to Bat Trang Pottery Village for a hands-on workshop where you can try pottery making and shop for artisanal souvenirs. Evening at leisure in the Old Quarter.
Tip: Bring a small reusable bag for purchases — Bat Trang offers fragile ceramics.
Monastic Visit & Guided Meditation Session
Spend a reflective morning at a local monastery or meditation center near Hanoi for a guided meditation, chant listening, and explanation of Buddhist practices and pilgrimage traditions. The afternoon offers a curated visit to smaller, historically significant pagodas (options include Phu Tay Ho or local village temples) with your guide discussing ritual significance.
Note: Meditation session is beginner-friendly. Inform us in advance if you have mobility restrictions.
Optional Excursion or Free Day — Ninh Binh (Tam Coc) Option
Today is flexible: relax and explore Hanoi's markets and cafes, or take an optional full-day excursion to Ninh Binh (ancient capital of Hoa Lu) to visit Tam Coc by sampan, Bich Dong Pagoda, and Hoa Lu temples — an outstanding addition for those who want to extend their spiritual route. This optional day is available as an add-on and suits travelers looking for the extended 6 and 7 Vietnam Pilgrimage tour package experience.
Important: Optional excursion is subject to additional fees and early start times.
Departure — Farewell to Spiritual Hanoi
After breakfast, enjoy free time for last-minute shopping or a short visit to any nearby temple. Transfer to Noi Bai International Airport for your departure flight. Our team will assist with your transfer and final farewells.

Vietnam Felt Safe Because Someone Had Our Back
First time booking through a travel company and honestly I was nervous about handing over money without knowing how things would turn out. My wife and I had been wanting to do Vietnam for a while but the visa, flights, hotels — all of it felt overwhelming to plan ourselves. TourGrids sorted the entire thing over a few WhatsApp conversations. Our coordinator was reachable throughout, answered every small doubt without making us feel like we were bothering anyone. Hotels were proper good — not budget, not over the top, exactly what we had asked for. No surprise charges at the end either. Vietnam exceeded our expectations and a lot of that credit goes to how well the ground work was laid before we even landed.
Vietnam Itinerary Built Over One WhatsApp Chat
We were planning our first international trip as a couple and honestly had no idea where to start with Vietnam. A friend suggested TourGrids, so I dropped them a message on WhatsApp and within the hour someone from the team called back. We spoke for maybe 30–40 minutes — they asked about our pace, what we wanted to skip, budget, everything. The itinerary they sent back actually reflected that conversation, not some copy-paste template. Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An — sequenced properly, hotels were proper good, cabs pre-arranged at every stop. No surprises on billing either, what they quoted is what we paid. The whole planning process genuinely felt effortless.
Vietnam Hotels Felt Chosen, Not Just Booked
We almost went with a random travel agent but a friend suggested TourGrids, and honestly that was the right call. My husband and I did Vietnam last month — Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An — and the properties TourGrids arranged were genuinely good. Not just decent-for-the-price good, actually good. The Ha Long Bay cruise cabin was beautiful and the Hoi An resort had this lovely courtyard view. Cabs were always on time, drivers were tracked, no last-minute confusion at any transfer point. I'd been nervous about handovers between cities but everything connected properly. Coordinator Priya was reachable throughout and sorted a room preference issue on call before we even arrived.
Vietnam Because Our Coordinator Owned Every Problem
We had a connecting flight issue on day two in Vietnam — my husband and I were completely lost at Da Nang airport, no clue who to call. Messaged our TourGrids coordinator Priya on WhatsApp and she replied within minutes, sorted the cab rerouting and hotel check-in time on call before we even reached the property. The whole Vietnam itinerary was already well thought out — Hanoi, Ha Long, Hoi An, all properly spaced. Hotels were proper good, no nasty surprises at checkout, no hidden charges. What actually stood out was that Priya felt like she was traveling with us, just remotely. That kind of support changes the whole experience.
Vietnam Hotel Swap at 11 PM, Done
We landed in Hanoi and the hotel had given away our room — no warning, no explanation. My husband was ready to lose it. I messaged our TourGrids coordinator, Priya, almost expecting to deal with it ourselves. Within 20 minutes she had us shifted to a different property, same area, honestly a better room than what we'd originally booked. She stayed on call until we checked in and confirmed everything was fine. Rest of the Vietnam trip — Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, the whole thing — went exactly as planned. No surprise charges, no chasing anyone. For a first international trip as a couple, that one night told us everything we needed to know about who we'd booked with.
Vietnam Planned Around What We Actually Wanted
My husband and I had been pushing our Vietnam trip for almost two years, mostly because planning it felt overwhelming. A friend suggested TourGrids, and honestly, one call with their team changed everything. They asked proper questions — our pace, food preferences, whether we wanted more beaches or cities — and built the itinerary around that. No standard package being pushed on us. Everything was on WhatsApp after that, and they responded fast, even on weekends. Hotels were proper good, nothing felt random or filler. They adjusted two nights in Hoi An when I asked, no fuss at all. No surprise costs when it came to final billing either.
