Itinerary
Arrival, Welcome Briefing & Easy Walk in Haridwar
Arrive at Haridwar (from Dehradun or Delhi). Meet your driver and tour leader, check into your hotel and enjoy a short orientation about the Uttarakhand Adventure package. In the evening attend the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri — an atmospheric experience to set the tone for the pilgrimage and trek ahead. Overnight in Haridwar.
Tip: Keep spare cash and a photocopy of ID for permit processing.
Scenic Drive to Joshimath via Confluence Towns
After breakfast depart for Joshimath. The drive winds through picturesque confluences — Devprayag (Alaknanda meets Bhagirathi), Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag — with optional photo stops. Arrive in Joshimath by late afternoon. Check in, relax, and attend a short briefing about the trek logistics and acclimatization plan.
Acclimatization Note: Stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activity to prepare for higher altitudes ahead.
Transfer to Govindghat and Trek to Ghangaria (Basecamp)
Early morning drive to Govindghat. Begin the trek to Ghangaria (approx. 13 km) through valleys, riversides and alpine forests. Options available: trek on foot, hire a pony, or take a palki (porter service) for sections if needed. On arrival check into your guesthouse in Ghangaria and rest.
Important: Carry daypack with water, rain shell, sunscreen, and basic trekking shoes. Altitude gain is gradual but take frequent breaks.
Full Day: Valley of Flowers Exploration & Return to Ghangaria
Early breakfast and trek to the Valley of Flowers National Park (approx. 3–4 km one way from Ghangaria). Spend ample time exploring carpets of alpine flowers, photographing endemic species, and walking gentle trails. A picnic lunch in the valley followed by return to Ghangaria in the afternoon. Optional short nature walks in the evening.
Seasonal Note: Peak bloom is typically mid-July to mid-September. Carry a lightweight rain jacket as mountain weather can change rapidly.
Hemkund Sahib Pilgrimage & Descent to Joshimath
Pre-dawn start for the Hemkund Sahib trek (approx. 6 km from Ghangaria; steeper than the Valley trail). Visit the glacial lake and the revered Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara with its striking mountain backdrop. After darshan and photography, descend back to Ghangaria, collect baggage and return down to Govindghat. Drive to Joshimath in the evening and overnight.
Health Tip: The Hemkund trail is steeper and higher — pace yourself and inform the guide of any altitude discomfort immediately.
Return Drive to Haridwar with En-route Stops
After breakfast depart Joshimath and drive back toward the plains. Stop en-route at scenic viewpoints and confluences for photos and refreshments. Arrive in Haridwar by evening. Enjoy a farewell dinner with your group and guide. Overnight in Haridwar.
Packing Tip: Keep a small overnight bag ready for the mountain stays and ensure all necessary documents and permit copies are accessible.
Departure from Haridwar / End of Services
After breakfast check out from the hotel. Transfer to Dehradun airport / Haridwar railway station / Delhi-bound coach based on your onward travel plan. Tour concludes with memories of alpine meadows and a spiritually uplifting visit to Hemkund Sahib.
Note: Customized extensions (e.g., Auli day visit, Rishikesh activities) can be added on request.
