Arrival in Ahmedabad & Heritage Introduction
Arrive at Ahmedabad (Ahmedabad airport/railway). Meet & greet followed by a relaxed heritage walk through the old city. Visit the Sabarmati Ashram, stroll the pols (old city neighborhoods) and experience the evening hustle at Manek Chowk. Transfer to a boutique hotel or heritage haveli. Overnight in Ahmedabad.
Transfer to Bhuj — Craft Villages & First Homestay
Drive or fly to Bhuj. On arrival, check into a village homestay near Bhuj (Hodka / nearby craft village). Explore the Kutch Museum and the famed weaving hamlet of Bhujodi — meet master weavers and learn about Ajrakh & Bandhani traditions. Evening: village walk and a traditional home-cooked dinner with your hosts. This night is your first true homestay experience.
Village Homestay — Farm Activities & Craft Immersion
Spend a full day living with a local family: join in seasonal farming tasks, try traditional milking or millets preparation, participate in pottery or textile-printing workshops (Ajrakh/Bandhani demonstrations) and learn local recipes. Evening cultural exchange with folk music or a local storyteller. A hands-on rural experience crafted for authentic connection.
Dhordo & The White Rann — Sunset & Starry Tent Night
Drive to Dhordo and enter the otherworldly Great Rann of Kutch. Visit Kalo Dungar (Black Hill) for sweeping views and the ancient Dattatreya Temple. Time your visit for the sunset over the White Rann — a prime photo moment. Check into a comfortable tented camp or eco-camp in Dhordo for the night. If traveling during festival season, experience the Rann Utsav celebrations.
Craft Villages, Nirona & Drive to Mandvi
Explore offbeat craft villages like Nirona (known for Rogan art and copper-ware) and Ludiya. Learn about traditional metalcraft and textile printing. Later, drive to coastal Mandvi — visit the old shipbuilding yards and relax on Mandvi Beach. Evening free to stroll the waterfront or sample local seafood. Overnight in Mandvi — choose a beachside homestay or heritage hotel.
Journey to Sasan Gir — Village Farmstay near the Sanctuary
Drive towards Sasan Gir, arriving in the late afternoon. Check into a village farmstay near the sanctuary. Participate in small-scale farming activities, evening village market visit or cooking session with hosts. A peaceful rural stay with an option to book a wildlife safari the next morning (advance booking recommended).
Option: Morning Safari or Village Walk & Departure
Optional early morning wildlife safari in Gir National Park (book in advance) to spot the Asiatic lion — followed by return to the farmstay for breakfast. Later, drive back to Ahmedabad for onward connections (flight/rail). If you have a late departure, enjoy an extended village cooking session or a relaxed packed lunch for the road.
