Arrival in Ahmedabad & Orientation
Arrive at Ahmedabad. Meet and assist at the airport/station and transfer to your hotel. After check-in and some rest, enjoy a welcome briefing about the Gujarat Family Retreat package. In the evening take a gentle walk along the Sabarmati Riverfront or relax at the hotel. Dinner at the hotel with an optional cultural introduction talk about Gujarat's heritage.
Old City Heritage Walk & Stepwell Visit
Explore Ahmedabad's historic old city with a guided walking tour. Visit the Sabarmati Ashram to learn about Mahatma Gandhi's life, then move to the bustling pols (traditional neighborhoods) and see the ornate Sidi Saiyyed Mosque famous for its carved jali (lattice). After lunch drive to Adalaj Stepwell to admire the multi-storey carved stepwell — an excellent spot for photos and architectural appreciation. Return to Ahmedabad for an evening at Kankaria Lake with optional boating and family activities.
Modhera Sun Temple & Patan (Optional)
Full-day excursion to Modhera Sun Temple. Explore the intricately sculpted temple complex and the sacred pond (Surya Kund). After lunch proceed to Patan to visit Rani ki Vav (a UNESCO World Heritage-style stepwell) — a highlight for families and architecture enthusiasts. Return to Ahmedabad in the evening. Tip: Carry water and sun protection for the Modhera visit; the site is best enjoyed in the morning light.
Shopping, Farewell & Departure
After breakfast, spend your last morning shopping for local handicrafts, bandhani textiles, and traditional snacks at markets such as Law Garden and the Asarva/Manek Chowk area (time-permitting). Transfer to Ahmedabad airport or railway station for your onward journey. Important: Check-out time and transfer schedules will be coordinated as per your departure time.
