Swim at Anse Georgette

Anse Georgette on Praslin Island is one of Seychelles' most celebrated beaches — a sheltered, picture‑perfect cove framed by granite boulders, powder-white sand and crystalline turquoise water. Swimming here is idyllic: calm, warm water and a vibrant shallow reef near the shore make it ideal for relaxed swimming and easy snorkeling. The beach is relatively secluded and often far less crowded than Anse Lazio.

Location

Anse Georgette, Praslin Island, Baie Sainte Anne (district), Praslin, Seychelles

Duration

1–3 hours on the beach; allow half a day if combining with travel, snorkeling or a guided tour.

Best Time to Visit

Best months: April–October (shoulder and dry seasons often bring clearer, calmer water). Best time of day: Early morning (sunrise–mid morning) for calmer seas, fewer people and the best light for photos.

Pricing

Access: Free for the public. Note: a short footpath crosses Constance Lémuria resort land — the resort generally allows visitors to use the path but may ask visitors to stop at reception; check with them. Optional extras: guided boat transfers or snorkeling trips (approx. USD 25–80 per person depending on operator and season).

Itinerary

  1. Transfer by taxi or rented vehicle to the north-west coast (Anse Georgette access point near Constance Lémuria).

Allow 20–45 minutes from most accommodations on the island.

  2. Use the marked path that crosses the Constance Lémuria property (or arrive by boat).

There is a short 5–20 minute walk depending on where you park/land. Be polite to resort staff and follow signs.

  3. Enjoy swimming, floating and snorkeling close to shore; explore around the granite rocks.

Spend 1–2 hours in the water; keep an eye on tides and currents.

  4. Sunbathe on the sand, take photos, then return along the path or by boat.

Bring water, shade and pack out any rubbish.

Safety Requirements

  • No lifeguard on the beach — swim with a buddy and keep within your limits.

  • Check local sea conditions; currents and swell can increase rapidly, especially with strong trade winds.

  • Wear reef shoes to avoid cuts from rocks/coral and bring a basic first‑aid kit for minor cuts.

  • Use reef‑safe sunscreen and avoid touching corals or disturbing marine life.

  • Respect private property rules when crossing resort grounds; follow any staff instructions.

Tips

  • Arrive early to secure a spot and enjoy calmer water and softer light for photos.

  • Bring your own snorkeling gear if you prefer a better mask/snorkel fit; mask rental is available from some hotels/operators.

  • Bring water, snacks, a hat and light shade — there is little natural shade directly on the beach.

  • Wear flip‑flops or reef shoes for the walk and entry points; some paths can be rocky.

  • If you don't want to walk across resort land, arrange a short boat drop‑off from local operators.

  • Leave no trace — carry out all rubbish and avoid single‑use plastics. Avoid stepping on or collecting coral, shells or marine life.
