Accessibility
Nearest mainland access point is Laem Ngop (Trat province) by road. Options: drive/bus/minivan from Bangkok (approx. 5–6 hours) to Laem Ngop then ferry (30–45 minutes) to Ko Chang; or fly to Trat Airport (TDX) from Bangkok then a short taxi + ferry transfer. Ferries and speedboats run from Ao Thammachat (Centerpoint) and other piers. Once on the island, transport includes songthaews (shared pickup taxis), motorbike rentals and private taxis; roads are hilly and some interior trails are only for trekking.
