Tropical climate: average temperatures range from about 25–33°C (77–91°F). Humidity is high year-round. Rainfall peaks in the wet season (roughly September–October). Sea conditions are calmest November–April.
Accessibility
Nearest airport: Trat (TDX) with limited flights from Bangkok (usually via Bangkok Airways). From Bangkok you can reach Trat by flight or by bus/car to Laem Ngop pier. Boats: regular speedboat and longtail ferry services run between Laem Ngop (Trat mainland) and Ko Mak; travel time by speedboat is roughly 45–75 minutes depending on sea conditions and operator, while slower ferries may take longer. There are also connections from Ko Chang and Ko Kood. On the island, transport is mainly by bicycle, scooter, tuk-tuk/longtail boats for short hops, and walking.
Recommended Duration
Plan 2–4 nights to relax, explore beaches, snorkel and do a day trip to nearby islets. A single day trip is possible but limits what you can see.
