Road head / trail start often at Sangam (or other local parking points) from where the trek to Dodital is typically 10–18 km depending on the route chosen. Nearest airport: Dehradun (Jolly Grant) ~180–220 km by road (approx. 6–8 hours). Nearest major rail/road hub: Rishikesh (then onward by road to Uttarkashi). Mountain roads can be narrow and winding; shared jeeps, taxis or private vehicles from Uttarkashi are common. Mobile connectivity is limited or intermittent near the lake; plan accordingly.
Recommended Duration
2–3 days (one day to reach/camp and one day to return or explore). Add extra days for acclimatization, bad weather or side excursions.
