Itinerary

Day1

Arrival & Acclimatization in Shimla

Arrive in Shimla. Transfer to your hotel and rest to acclimatize to the altitude. Evening walk on the Mall Road, capture colonial architecture, and shoot sunset over the ridge. Tip: Keep lenses ready for golden-hour portraits and street scenes.

Day2

Scenic Drive to Sangla / Reckong Peo (Kinnaur)

Drive to the lush Sangla Valley / Reckong Peo through forested valleys and riverine vistas. Photo stops at Baspa River viewpoints and local villages. Evening composition practice among apple orchards and stone houses. Hydrate and avoid strenuous activity — we climb gradually.

Day3

Explore Kalpa — Kinnaur Kailash Views

Short drive to Kalpa, famous for panoramic views of Kinnaur Kailash. Sunrise shoot at the village viewpoint; afternoon visit apple orchards and local monasteries. Focus on mountain silhouettes and layered compositions. Ideal day for telephoto and wide-angle work.

Day4

High-Altitude Transition: Kalpa to Nako

Drive along high ridgelines into the trans-Himalayan zone toward Nako. Visit Nako Lake and the ancient Nako Monastery—excellent for reflective water shots and calm, pastel skies. Evening astro/low-light practice if skies are clear. Carry warm layers; temperatures drop sharply after sunset.

Day5

Enter Spiti: Drive to Tabo — Monastery & Cultural Frames

Cross to Spiti and arrive at Tabo, home to the 1000-year-old Tabo Monastery (UNESCO candidate). Extensive opportunities for architectural detail photography, murals, and monastic life. Golden-hour at the monastery courtyard. Respect local customs and ask before photographing people.

Day6

Dhankar: Clifftop Monastery & Dramatic Vistas

Short drive to Dhankar. Visit the clifftop Dhankar Monastery and viewpoint—spectacular for wide-angle valley panoramas and layered cliff faces. Optional short hike to Dhankar Lake for alpine reflections. Sunset compositions with monastery silhouettes are a highlight.

Day7

Into Pin Valley & Arrival at Kaza

Drive through scenic passes into the Pin Valley and reach Kaza, the administrative hub of Spiti. Afternoon orientation in Kaza, scout sunrise locations, and prepare gear for early-morning shoots. Evening visit to local mani walls and market for environmental portraits.

Day8

Langza, Hikkim & Komic — Iconic Spiti Portraits

Full day around Kaza's satellite villages: sunrise at Langza (fossil-rich plateau with Buddha statue and Himalayan backdrop), visit Hikkim (one of the world’s highest post offices) and Komic/Komik (high-altitude villages). Key Monastery visit near Kaza for golden-hour and silhouette shots. Early starts reward dramatic light and fewer tourists.

Day9

Return Drive: Kaza to Kalpa — Long Scenic Transit

Begin the long scenic transit back toward Kinnaur. Photographic stops at high passes, trans-Himalayan vistas, and villages encountered en route. Evening in Kalpa — final sunset shoot with Kinnaur Kailash dominating the skyline. Expect long driving day; rest well and enjoy night-sky opportunities.

Day10

Final Morning in Kalpa & Departure

Final sunrise shoot in Kalpa if time allows, then drive back to your onward destination (Shimla / Chandigarh / Delhi transfer as arranged). Conclude the tour with a photo review and optional guidance on post-processing suggestions. Carry your memory backups; final transfers can be planned per passenger convenience.
