Transfers to Maafushi by public ferry (≈90 minutes) or frequent speedboat transfers (≈30–45 minutes) arranged by guesthouses or private operators. The island is walkable; accommodations and services are clustered near the harbor and main street.

2–4 days on Maafushi is typical to enjoy the island and a few excursions; combine with other islands or a resort for a longer Maldives experience.

Lightweight, breathable clothing. Respect local customs: wear modest clothing (cover shoulders and knees) when in village areas and public places; swimwear is acceptable on designated Bikini Beach and during boat trips. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, snorkel gear (optional), water shoes, a hat, and a waterproof bag.

Try Mas Huni (tuna and coconut breakfast), fresh seafood curries, and short-eats from local cafes. Souvenirs include locally made handicrafts, lacquerware, woven mats, and jewelry. Avoid purchasing coral or protected marine items—these are illegal to remove.
