World Peace Pagoda & Viewpoints
The World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa) is a white-domed Buddhist stupa built by Japanese monks on Anadu Hill above Phewa Lake. It offers panoramic views of the Annapurna range (including Machapuchare / Fishtail), Pokhara city and Phewa Tal, making it one of the best viewpoints in the area. The site combines cultural interest (Buddhist shrines and prayer wheels) with a peaceful hilltop setting, accessible by boat + hike, by road, or on a scenic trail from Lakeside Pokhara.

Safety Requirements
Wear sturdy shoes — trails include uneven stone steps and steep sections
Carry sufficient water, sun protection, and a light jacket (weather can change quickly)
Trails become slippery after rain—use caution and avoid risky shortcuts
Limited lighting at night — avoid walking alone after dark or carry a strong torch
Respect religious areas: remove shoes when required and dress modestly
Tips
Best photo times: sunrise or sunset for dramatic light
Hire a local guide if unfamiliar with trails — they can point out viewpoints and local flora/fauna
Carry small change and cash (boats and small vendors may not accept cards)
Wear good walking shoes and bring water and insect repellent
Combine the visit with a Phewa Lake boat trip or a trip to Sarangkot for sunrise
If going for sunset, arrive early to find a good spot; boat services have limited hours — confirm return options
Leave no trace — take rubbish back with you and respect the site
