Goecha La,Sikkim
Goecha La is a high mountain pass (approx. 4,940 m) in the Kanchenjunga region of Sikkim, India. It is significant primarily for its natural importance as a gateway to spectacular views of Mount Kanchenjunga (the third-highest peak in the world) and the surrounding Himalayan range. The trek passes through Kanchenjunga National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, noted for its biodiversity, endemic alpine flora and fauna, and pristine high-altitude landscapes.

Weather Conditions
Alpine conditions: warm to cool at lower camps, cold at higher camps and the pass. Temperatures can drop well below freezing at night above 3,500–4,000 m. Weather is unpredictable — expect sudden snow, high winds, and rapid temperature changes at high altitude.
Accessibility

From there, road travel to Yuksom (trek base) via Gangtok/Pelling — approximate travel time 6–8+ hours depending on route. Pakyong Airport (near Gangtok) has limited services. The trek to Goecha La is a strenuous multi-day hike (approx. 8–12 days one-way depending on itinerary and acclimatization) with high-altitude sections; suitable only for fit trekkers or with experienced guides and porters.
