Arrival & Evening at Leisure
Arrive at Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station and drive to Gangtok (approx. 4-5 hours by road). Check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening, take a leisurely walk on MG Marg — enjoy shopping, local cafes and the pleasant hill-town atmosphere.
Important: Carry light woolens; evenings can be chilly. Hotel check-in is usually after 1200 hours.
Gangtok City Highlights
After breakfast, enjoy a gentle city tour of Gangtok. Key stops include Enchey Monastery, Tashi Viewpoint (for sunrise/peak views), Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, and Flower Exhibition Centre (seasonal). Return to the hotel by late afternoon. Evening at leisure; optional walk on MG Marg.
Tip: If visiting en route to viewpoints, start early for clearer skies and better mountain visibility.
Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake) & Baba Mandir Excursion
Full-day excursion to the iconic Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake) and Baba Mandir. Drive on the scenic roads that offer stunning vistas of the Eastern Himalayas. Spend time at the emerald lake, enjoy optional yak rides or short walks around the lake, and visit the revered Baba Mandir. Return to Gangtok by evening.
Important: Tsomgo Lake is at high altitude (~12,400 ft). Carry water, warm clothing, and inform us in advance if any traveler has altitude sensitivity. Permits for the lake visit are included in the package.
Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station for your onward journey. If time permits, stop for last-minute souvenirs or photos en route.
Note: Standard check-out time is by 1100–1200 hours. Please confirm your onward travel schedule so transfers can be timed accordingly.
