Ba Bể National Park (Ba Bể Lake) is one of Vietnam's most important freshwater and karst ecosystems. It protects Ba Bể Lake—the largest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam—surrounded by limestone mountains and primary evergreen forest. The park conserves high biodiversity, supporting numerous bird, mammal, amphibian and aquatic species, and preserves the cultural landscape and traditional livelihoods of ethnic Tày, Dao and H'Mong communities.

Accessibility
Nearest major city: Hanoi (approximately 220–260 km by road). Travel options: 4–6 hour drive by private car or tourist shuttle, public buses to Bắc Kạn town plus local transfer, or private transfer/driver. There is no nearby major airport; the area is best reached by road. Within the park, movement is by boat and on foot; roads inside are limited.
Recommended Duration
2–3 days to see the lake, a cave, a waterfall and experience a homestay; longer (4–5 days) for extended trekking or quieter wildlife viewing.
