Stepwell trail (Raniji ki Baori and others)
Raniji ki Baori is the centerpiece of a compact, highly photogenic stepwell trail through Bundi's old town. These baoris (stepwells) combine practical water management with richly carved architecture and painted chambers. The trail guides visitors through the most ornate stepwell in the city and several lesser-known neighborhood baoris, offering insight into 17th–18th century Rajput craftsmanship, urban water design and everyday life in historic Bundi. (Descriptions and timings below are for a self-guided or guided walking trail.)

Safety Requirements
Wear sturdy, non-slip footwear — steps and stone surfaces can be uneven and slippery, especially in monsoon.
Watch your step when descending — many stepwells have steep, narrow flights and low light in lower galleries.
Avoid entering closed or roped-off sections — they may be unstable or under conservation.
Do not swim or wade in the water — water quality is variable and pools can be deep or have hidden hazards.
Supervise children closely — there are many drops and staircases without modern railings.
