Arrival & Evening Cultural Walk in Mandawa
Arrive from Delhi/Jaipur and transfer to Mandawa (approx. 3–4 hours by road depending on your start point). Check in to a heritage haveli hotel. After freshening up, take a relaxed evening cultural walk through the town to see painted facades and local life. Enjoy a welcome Rajasthani dinner at the hotel with a short introduction to Shekhawati's history.
Tip: Carry a light jacket for cool evenings in winter months.
Full Day Mandawa: Havelis, Frescoes & Village Strolls
Spend the day exploring the famed havelis of Mandawa with a knowledgeable local guide. Visit notable mansions such as Nawalgarh Haveli-style houses, and lesser-known frescoed homes tucked into side lanes. After lunch, opt for a short village walk or a cycling trip through nearby settlements to see rural Shekhawati life, old stepwells, and street art.
Special Note: Photography of some private havelis may require small donations — carry some cash.
Transfer to Nawalgarh & Afternoon Heritage Walk
After breakfast, drive to Nawalgarh (about 1–1.5 hours). Check in and start a guided heritage walk covering the town's exquisite havelis, painted walls, and open-air courtyards. Explore the bustling local bazaar where artisans sell puppets, textiles and lacquerware. Evening free for leisurely time at the haveli hotel.
Tip: Try local sweets like ghevar and mawa sweets available in town markets.
Jhunjhunu and Fatehpur Excursions: Frescoes & Stepwells
Drive to Jhunjhunu, with an optional stop at Fatehpur (drive time 45–60 minutes depending on route) to see more monumental frescoed havelis and grand stepwells. Guided visits focus on iconography, patronage history, and restoration stories. Afternoon visit to the city highlights and a family-friendly interactive craft demo or puppet show (subject to availability).
Important: Some heritage sites have limited entry hours — your guide will coordinate times to make the most of visits.
Departure: Return to Delhi/Jaipur
After breakfast, check out and transfer back to Delhi/Jaipur (approx. 3–4 hours). En route, enjoy scenic views of the arid plains and last glimpses of Shekhawati's painted towns. Drop-off at airport/railway station for onward journey.
Tip: If you have a late departure, ask your hotel to provide a packed lunch or store luggage while you explore for a few final hours.
