Hot summers (April–June) with very high daytime temperatures; monsoon (June–September) brings occasional showers; winters (November–February) are mild to cool, with chilly nights — dress in layers.

There is a modest entry fee and occasional charges for guided tours; typical opening hours are roughly 09:00–17:00 (but times and fees can change). Check the official park or Mehrangarh/visitor information for up-to-date fees and guided-tour schedules.

Located adjacent to Mehrangarh Fort in central Jodhpur. Nearest airport: Jodhpur (JDH); nearest major rail hub: Jodhpur Junction. Reachable by taxi or auto-rickshaw. Trails traverse rocky and uneven terrain — some areas are steep and not fully wheelchair-friendly; there are a few gentler sections near the visitor area.

Plan 1–2 hours for the main trail and viewpoint; 2–4 hours if you want to explore multiple trails, visit the nursery, attend a guided walk or linger for photography.

Sturdy closed walking shoes, hat, sunscreen and sunglasses; carry plenty of water (especially in hot months). In winter bring a light jacket for cooler mornings/evenings. A small first-aid kit and insect repellent can be useful.

After your visit, sample Rajasthani snacks and sweets in nearby bazaars (kachori, mirchi vada, lassi). Souvenirs: textiles, block-printed fabrics, handicrafts, spices and locally made items. The park’s nursery sometimes offers native-plant saplings or seeds — a meaningful souvenir if available and permitted.
