Overview

An unforgettable Himachal tour package designed for travelers seeking pristine valleys, dramatic mountain views and authentic Kinnauri culture. This Himachal Adventure tour package (ideal as a Himachal Adventure package or a 5 and 6 Himachal Adventure tour package variant) covers the scenic Sangla Valley, the remote village of Chitkul — the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border — and the tranquil hamlet of Kalpa. Expect scenic drives along the Sutlej and Baspa rivers, easy hikes, village walks, and panoramic views of Kinnaur Kailash and surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Best for: nature lovers, photographers, couples, small groups, and moderate-level trekkers. Travel window: April to November (winter roads may be restricted).

Itinerary

Day1

Arrival in Shimla — Welcome to Himachal

Arrive at Shimla (by road/train/air). Meet-and-greet and transfer to your hotel. Spend the day acclimatizing and exploring the colonial charm of Shimla: Mall Road, Christ Church, and the Ridge. Evening briefing about the Kinnaur Scenic Road Trip and prepare for an early departure tomorrow.

Tip: Keep warm clothing handy; mountain evenings can be chilly even in summer.

Day2

Scenic Drive: Shimla to Sangla — Enter Kinnaur Valley

Early morning departure from Shimla. Drive deep into Kinnaur via Narkanda, Rampur and the scenic Sutlej valley. Enjoy dramatic landscapes, apple orchards and river-side views en route. Arrive in Sangla Valley in the late afternoon. Short walk along the Baspa River and visit Kamru Fort (if time permits).

Travel note: Road stretches are mountainous — expect photo stops and short breaks. Carry water and light snacks for the drive.

Day3

Sangla to Chitkul — Experience the Last Village

Morning exploration of Sangla: village walk, Baspa valley viewpoints and local markets. After lunch, take the scenic drive to Chitkul, the last inhabited village on the old Indo-Tibetan trade route. Stroll through the village, walk by the Baspa river and enjoy unobstructed views of the surrounding peaks. Evening free to relax in the peaceful village.

Highlight: Chitkul offers a serene, offbeat experience — mobile connectivity is limited; use this time to unplug.

Day4

Chitkul to Kalpa via Reckong Peo — Kinnaur Kailash Views

After sunrise views in Chitkul, depart for Kalpa. En route, stop at Reckong Peo — the administrative town with spectacular viewpoints of Kinnaur Kailash. Visit local monasteries and markets. Arrive in Kalpa by evening; enjoy sunset views over the apple orchards and the towering Kailash range.

Tip: Carry binoculars and a camera for the best mountain panoramas.

Day5

Full Day in Kalpa — Culture, Views & Short Treks

Full day to explore Kalpa and nearby hamlets. Visit iconic viewpoints (including Suicide Point for panoramic vistas), local temples, and traditional Kinnauri villages like Roghi. Optional short hikes or a guided village walk to learn about Kinnauri culture and architecture.

Important: Altitude is moderate but mornings can be cold — dress in layers. This day is perfect for photographers and those seeking a relaxed cultural immersion.

Day6

Return to Shimla — Departure

After breakfast, begin the journey back to Shimla. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Kinnaur Region and Sutlej valleys with final photo stops. Arrival in Shimla by late afternoon/early evening. Drop at the railway station/airport/hotel for onward travel.

Note: If you have time, schedule a late evening departure. Otherwise, plan an additional night in Shimla to avoid rushed travel.

Our Himachal Coordinator Replied Within Two Minutes

My husband and I were a little nervous handing over a full Himachal trip to someone we'd only spoken to on WhatsApp. But the coordinator TourGrids assigned us — Priya — was genuinely on top of everything. Before we even reached Manali, she had already confirmed the hotel, shared the cab driver's number, and sent us a day-by-day breakdown. One evening our driver got delayed and she sorted it on call within minutes, no excuses. Hotels were proper good for the price we paid, and there were no surprise charges at checkout. The whole trip felt like someone was watching over it quietly. Really glad we went with them.

Cab Replacement Confirmed While We Were Still Panicking

We were halfway through our Himachal trip — somewhere between Manali and Kasol — when our cab driver suddenly said he couldn't continue due to a family emergency. My wife and I had no idea what to do. Called our TourGrids coordinator immediately and within 40 minutes a replacement cab was confirmed, driver details shared on WhatsApp, and we barely lost two hours. No extra charge, no runaround. The entire Himachal itinerary had been planned around our pace as a couple, hotels were proper good, and check-ins were always pre-informed. But that one moment on the road showed us what actually separates a good travel company from a random aggregator. Will be back for the next trip.

Woke Up to Perfect Hotels Every Single Morning

Honestly, the properties TourGrids picked for our Himachal trip were the real highlight. My wife and I were a bit skeptical about handing over hotel selection to someone else, but every stay — from Manali to Kasol — was proper good. Clean rooms, decent views, breakfast included without any last-minute surprises. The cab arrangements were equally solid. Driver showed up on time each day, knew the mountain roads well, and never rushed us. Whatever we flagged on WhatsApp, the coordinator sorted on call within the hour. No confusion at checkouts, no hidden charges. For a couple planning a hill trip without wanting to micromanage every detail, this worked out really well.

Himachal Itinerary Built Exactly Around Our Dates

I'd been putting off planning a Himachal trip with my wife for almost a year because coordinating everything felt overwhelming. A friend suggested TourGrids, so I messaged them on WhatsApp. Within a day, someone from the team called and actually listened — I told them we wanted less crowded spots and more flexibility on rest days, and they built the itinerary around that. No generic package. Cab timings, hotel preferences, altitude concerns for my wife — all noted and reflected in the final plan. Pricing was transparent, no hidden charges at checkout. The whole booking process took maybe three days total. Really did not expect it to be this straightforward.
