Arrival & Evening at Gadisar Lake
Arrive at Jaisalmer (rail/road/airport) and transfer to your hotel. After freshening up, take a gentle evening walk to Gadisar Lake — enjoy boat views and the sunset. Explore the nearby local bazaars for handicrafts, carpets and Rajasthani textiles. Dinner and overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
Important: Early arrivals can check in subject to availability. Carry light woolens for cool desert evenings.
Jaisalmer Fort, Havelis & Heritage Walk
Full-day sightseeing of Jaisalmer Fort — one of the living forts in India. Explore the magnificently carved Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Singh Ki Haveli, and the ornate Jain Temples inside the fort. Afternoon visit to Bada Bagh for scenic cenotaphs and a panoramic photo stop. Evening at leisure with an optional heritage walk through narrow lanes and local markets.
Included: Local guide for the fort and haveli tour. Comfortable walking shoes recommended.
Kuldhara Ghost Village & Transfer to Sam Dunes
After breakfast, visit the mysterious Kuldhara Ghost Village — learn local legends and history. Post-lunch, drive to Sam Dunes. On arrival, experience a traditional camel safari to reach your desert camp. Enjoy a spectacular desert sunset followed by a cultural folk performance around the bonfire with local Rajasthani cuisine. Overnight stay in a comfortable desert camp.
Adventure note: Camel safari timings are planned to capture the best sunset views. Carry sunscreen, hat and a light scarf.
Desert Sunrise, Jeep Option & Return to Jaisalmer
Wake early for a mesmerizing sunrise over the Sam Dunes. Option for a short jeep safari or extended camel ride (at extra cost). After breakfast at the camp, return to Jaisalmer. Afternoon visit to the Thar Heritage Museum and free time for shopping or optional experiences like pottery demos and puppet shows. Overnight at the hotel in Jaisalmer.
Optional: Book a jeep safari in advance for dune-bashing and remote village visits.
Local Excursions & Cultural Nights
Choose from several optional excursions: a village walk to experience rural life, a visit to Lodurva (Lodhruva) temples, or a photography tour of the fort at golden hour. Spend the evening enjoying local cuisine and a relaxed cultural night in Jaisalmer town.
Note: This day can be customized into an adventure day (jeep safari to remote dunes or longer village tour) for travelers booking the Rajasthan Adventure package.
Departure from Jaisalmer
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Jaisalmer railway station/airport for your onward journey. If time permits, a quick stop for last-minute shopping or an early morning stroll around the fort area.
