Itinerary
Arrival at Haridwar — Relax & Riverside Evening
Arrive at Haridwar (or Dehradun airport / railway station). Transfer to your hotel in Haridwar. Spend the afternoon relaxing and exploring the Har Ki Pauri ghats. Evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri—an evocative spiritual experience. Prepare trekking gear and attend a short briefing about the trek and safety.
Tip: Keep copies of ID and permits; hydrate well to start acclimatization.
Haridwar to Chopta — Scenic Mountain Drive
Early breakfast and depart for Chopta (approx. 6–7 hours drive via Rudraprayag). En route, enjoy views of the Mandakini valley and stop for photographs at scenic points. Arrive in Chopta by evening, check-in at the campsite / guesthouse and relax. Short walk around the meadows to stretch legs.
Important: Road to Chopta is hilly — travel times vary with weather. Keep warm clothing handy.
Chopta — Acclimatization & Optional Short Hike
Spend a relaxed day in Chopta to acclimatize. Optionally undertake a short hike to nearby viewpoints and the alpine meadows. Visit the local villages to experience mountain life. Prepare for the summit trek by checking gear, headlamps, and clothing. Evening briefing with the trek leader on the route to Tungnath and Chandrashila.
Tip: Use this day to test your boots and carry a light rain jacket; weather can change quickly.
Trek to Tungnath & Chandrashila — Summit for Sunset (or Day Hike)
After breakfast, start the trek from Chopta to Tungnath Temple (approx. 3.5 km uphill, 1.5–2 hours). Explore the ancient Tungnath Temple and its surroundings. Continue to Chandrashila (approx. 1 km from Tungnath) for breathtaking panoramic views. Spend time capturing the ridge-line vistas of Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedarnath range.
Return to Chopta by late afternoon. Relax at the guesthouse or campsite and enjoy a cozy mountain dinner.
Note: If weather permits, this day can be planned to catch sunset from Chandrashila; otherwise, sunrise is the classic choice on Day 4.
Pre-dawn Ascend to Chandrashila for Sunrise — Summit Experience
Early pre-dawn start (around 3:00–4:00 AM) for the short ascent to Chandrashila to witness the spectacular sunrise. This is the highlight of the Uttarakhand Adventure tour package: unobstructed vistas of snow-clad peaks, golden light on Himalayan giants, and memorable summit moments. After sunrise, descend to Tungnath for a short rest and return trek to Chopta. Depart Chopta post-lunch for Rishikesh. En route, stop for photographs and short breaks. Arrive in Rishikesh by evening.
Tip: Carry a headlamp, warm layers, and extra batteries for the pre-dawn ascent. Keep camera batteries warm to preserve charge in cold weather.
Rishikesh — Riverfront Relaxation & Departure
Morning at leisure in Rishikesh. Optional activities: attend yoga sessions, visit Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, or short Ganga coastal walk. Post-lunch, transfer to Dehradun airport or Haridwar / Rishikesh railway station for onward journey.
Important: Confirm your onward travel times. If you have additional days, consider adding Deoria Tal or a longer Uttarakhand Adventure package extension.
