Itinerary
Arrival in Jaipur — Welcome to the Pink City
Arrive at Jaipur. Meet and greet at the airport/railway station and transfer to your hotel. Spend the afternoon resting or take a short walk around the hotel area. In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner followed by a traditional Rajasthani folk music performance at the hotel or a curated venue to set the tone for your cultural retreat.
Tip: Try the local Rajasthani thali for a warm, family-friendly introduction to the cuisine.
Jaipur: City Palace, Amber Fort & Folk Music Night
Start the day with a guided visit to Amber Fort, including an optional short elephant ride or jeep ride up to the fort entrance. Continue to the City Palace and Jantar Mantar for a glimpse of royal life and historic astronomy. Explore the colorful bazaars of Johari Bazaar for handicrafts, textiles and jewelry.
In the evening, enjoy a special folk music and dance night at a heritage venue — an immersive experience with local artists, puppetry and traditional instruments. This evening is curated for families to experience Rajasthan’s vibrant performing arts.
Note: Plan for comfortable walking shoes — some palace areas have uneven surfaces.
Drive to Pushkar — Lakeside Walk & Village Exploration
After breakfast, drive to Pushkar (approx. 3 hours). On arrival, check in and relax.
In the afternoon, take a guided village walk around the outskirts of Pushkar to meet local artisans, learn about traditional pottery and handicrafts and visit a rural family (where available) to understand daily village life. Stroll around the Pushkar Lake and explore the bustling Pushkar Bazaar.
Enjoy an evening cultural program featuring local folk singers. This day is gentle and tailored for families with children.
Drive to Udaipur via Ranakpur — Temple Stop & Scenic Drive
Depart Pushkar after breakfast and drive to Udaipur (approx. 6–7 hours) with a stop at Ranakpur Jain Temples to admire the intricate marble architecture (if open). Enjoy the scenic Aravalli landscapes en route and reach Udaipur by evening. Check into your lakeside hotel and relax with a calm dinner.
Note: The drive is longer but broken with interesting stops — consider booking comfortable transfers for families.
Udaipur: City Tour, Lake Pichola Boat Ride & Folk Performance
Spend the day exploring Udaipur — visit the City Palace, stroll through the old city lanes and then enjoy a serene boat ride on Lake Pichola, taking in views of Jag Mandir and the city’s palaces.
In the evening, attend the celebrated Bagore Ki Haveli folk performance (or a private folk music evening at your hotel) featuring traditional songs, puppetry and dance — a memorable finale to your cultural retreat.
Tip: Evening performances can be popular—book in advance for families to secure good seating.
Departure from Udaipur — End of Cultural Rajasthan Retreat
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning at the hotel. Depending on your departure time, you may visit an artisan studio or local market for last-minute souvenir shopping. Transfer to Udaipur Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey.

Rajasthan Hotels Were a Genuine Step Up
We were honestly not expecting the kind of properties TourGrids put us in — my husband and I have done Rajasthan before on our own, and the difference was clear from the first night in Jaipur itself. The heritage hotel they booked had this whole courtyard setup, proper good vibes, nothing like those mid-range places we usually end up with. Udaipur and Jaisalmer stays were equally well chosen. And the cabs — always on time, clean cars, drivers who actually knew the routes. No waiting around, no last-minute confusion. Our coordinator had everything lined up before we even landed. Genuinely one of the better-planned trips we have taken as a couple.
