Itinerary

Day1

Arrival, Drive to Sangla & Orientation

Pick-up from Shimla or Chandigarh (pre-arranged) and a scenic drive to the Baspa Valley: Sangla. En route enjoy views of terraced fields, river bends and mountain silhouettes. On arrival check into a guesthouse or homestay. Afternoon orientation with trek leader, gear check and short walk in the village to visit the local market and Baspa riverbank.

Important: Drink plenty of water and rest — this day is kept relaxed to help acclimatize.

Day2

Acclimatization Short Hike to Chitkul & Villages

A gentle day to acclimatize. After breakfast, take a 2–3 hour guided hike to Chitkul (the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibetan border) or explore nearby meadows and apple orchards. Return to Sangla in the afternoon. Evening cultural walk with local host — learn about village life and Himachali cuisine.

Day3

Drive to Trailhead & Trek to Rupin Base Camp

Early morning drive to the designated trailhead (approx. 1–2 hrs). Begin the trek following the river and crossing quaint wooden bridges. The trail passes cascading streams and small waterfalls, culminating at Rupin Base Camp. Camp setup and short sightseeing to the nearby water channels.

Distance/Time: Moderate 4–6 km trekking (3–5 hours) — suitable for beginners with breaks.

Day4

Explore Rupin Waterfall & Trek to Alpine Camp

A day of spectacular scenery. Hike to the iconic Rupin Waterfall — one of the route's highlights — and continue upward across meadows and moraine slopes to reach the Rupin Alpine Camp. Sunset over the meadows offers excellent photo opportunities and panoramic mountain views.

Tip: Carry a light rain shell and camera; the waterfall mist can be heavy at close range.

Day5

High Camp Excursion & Meadow Walks

Today focus on high-altitude meadows and ridge walks near the approach to Rupin Pass. Gentle climbs to viewpoints for sweeping vistas of surrounding peaks and valleys. Time to savor alpine flora, practice short scrambles, and understand snow/drift features if present (season dependent). Night at High Camp below the pass.

Day6

Descent to Sangla — Village Refresh

Begin descent back down toward the trailhead and transfer to Sangla. Relax at the guesthouse or homestay, enjoy a warm shower and local meals. Optional evening walk to Baspa river to reflect on the trek and take last photos of terraced valleys.

Day7

Departure / Drive Back to Shimla or Drop-off City

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Shimla or your chosen drop-off city (Chandigarh/Delhi transfer on request). End of the Rupin Pass Trek Intro 6 Nights package. Guests departing later can request additional nights in Shimla or an extended Himachal Adventure tour package.

Note: Travel times vary by pick-up/drop-off location; plan buffer time for onward flights/trains.
