Itinerary
Arrival in Bhuj & Local Orientation
Arrive at Bhuj Airport / Railway Station and transfer to your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the compact old town. Visit the Aina Mahal (Palace of Mirrors) and adjacent Prag Mahal. Evening walk through the bustling bazaars of Bhujodi — a living textile workshop where artisans create bandhani, embroidery and weaving. Early arrival recommended to rest after travel.
Kutch Museum, Local Villages & Sunset at Banni Grasslands
Morning visit to the Kutch Museum to understand regional archaeology and culture. Later, drive to nearby artisan villages (options: Ajrakhpur / Nirona / Hodka) to see block printing, Rogan art and lacquerware. Afternoon/early evening drive to the Banni Grasslands for a quiet sunset and interactions with pastoral communities. Village visits involve short walks on uneven surfaces.
Drive to Dholavira & Archaeological Exploration
Early departure for Dholavira (approx. 5–7 hours depending on road). On arrival, check in and rest briefly. Guided tour of the Dholavira excavation site, one of the most spectacular Harappan/Indus Valley urban centers, featuring the fortified city plan, water reservoirs and unique stone architecture. Evening at leisure near the ruins. Carry water, sunscreen and a hat for open-site exploration.
Dholavira to Mandvi via Coastal Route
After sunrise at the ruins (optional), depart for Mandvi. Drive back towards the coast with stops for local hamlets and scenic views. In Mandvi, visit Vijay Vilas Palace, the shipbuilding yards and Mandvi Beach — perfect for a relaxed evening and sunset. Mandvi offers a calm contrast to the arid interiors.
Mandvi Cultural Walk & Transfer to Little Rann of Kutch
Short morning at leisure in Mandvi — explore local markets and, if time permits, a short boat ride. Midday transfer to the Little Rann of Kutch / Dhordo region where desert camp accommodations await. Evening camp orientation, cultural program (folk music/dance) and dinner under the stars. Camping is in comfortable desert tents with basic facilities.
Little Rann Safari & Wild Ass Sanctuary
Early morning 4x4 safari into the Little Rann of Kutch — search for the Indian Wild Ass (Ghudkhar), migratory birds, and experience the salt-flat landscape. Return to camp for brunch and relax. Late afternoon optional guided nature walk or village visit to meet salt-pan workers and local pastoralists. Sundowner on the salt flats. Safari timings depend on season and weather.
Return Transfer & Departure (to Ahmedabad / Bhuj)
After breakfast, depart for Ahmedabad (or Bhuj based on your outbound travel schedule). En route stop for brief scenic/photo breaks. Arrival in Ahmedabad/Bhuj and drop at airport or railway station for your onward journey. If you prefer an extended stay (Rann Utsav season), we can adjust nights accordingly.
