Itinerary
Arrival & Acclimatization in Manali
Arrive at Manali (by road/train to nearest station) and check in to your hotel. Afternoon orientation and trek briefing with the guide. Light local sightseeing to help with acclimatization — visit Mall Road, Hadimba Temple (time permitting) and gear-check. Early rest to prepare for the trek start the next morning. Tip: Carry only essential daypack items to the campsite; main luggage will be transported separately.
Drive to Jobra & Trek to Balu Ka Ghera (Camp)
After breakfast, drive from Manali to the trek start at Jobra (approx. 1–1.5 hrs depending on road conditions). Begin the trek through pine forests and open meadows, crossing small streams and shepherd settlements en route. Reach Balu Ka Ghera, set up camp and enjoy an evening by the campsite with panoramic valley views. Walking duration: 4–5 hours; moderate difficulty.
Trek to Chikka Meadow — Explore Alpine Scenery
Begin early and trek across expansive meadows and rocky trails. Today's route opens up into wide alpine pastures with sweeping views of snow-capped peaks. Arrive at Chikka Meadow (or equivalent high meadow campsite), set up camp and spend the afternoon exploring nearby ridgelines or resting at camp. Altitude will increase gradually — keep hydrated and pace yourself.
Summit Hampta Pass & Descend to the Other Side
Early pre-dawn start for the crossing of Hampta Pass — the highlight of the trek. Traverse the pass saddle (approx. 4,100–4,300 m), soak in 360° vistas and witness the dramatic transition from verdant Kullu landscapes to the rugged Lahaul-Valley terrain. Descend towards the descent camp (near the Chatru/Marhi area) where the team will set up camp. This is the most strenuous day — expect 6–8 hours with steep sections.
Trek/Drive Return to Manali
After breakfast, complete the short descent/trek to the road head. Board vehicles for a scenic drive back to Manali. Afternoon at leisure in town — optional visits to local cafes or a relaxing walk. Evening group dinner and camp debrief. Rest and stretch well after the trek.
Departure from Manali
Post-breakfast checkout and transfer to the drop-off point (bus stand/airport/train station). End of the Hampta Pass Trek Introduction 5 Nights: Adventure & Camping package. Carry home memories, photos, and new friends — consider joining repeat-season trips for other Himachal Adventure packages.
