Itinerary
Arrival in Kochi — Transfer & Short Pilgrimage Walk
Arrive at Cochin International Airport or Ernakulam Railway Station. Meet and greet by our representative and transfer to the hotel in Kochi. If time permits, visit Fort Kochi: St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica and the historic coast — a gentle introduction to Kerala's Christian pilgrimage heritage. Evening at leisure.
Important: Early or late flight arrivals can be accommodated with prior notice.
Kochi to Guruvayur — First Darshan at Guruvayoor Temple
After breakfast, drive to Guruvayur (approx. 3–3.5 hours). Check in to the hotel and rest. In the evening, proceed for darshan at the iconic Guruvayoor Temple (Guruvayoorappan). Experience the devotional atmosphere, traditional rituals and simple temple customs.
Tip: Follow temple dress code; men are required to wear dhoti/pyjama and women saree/salwar-kameez with covered shoulders.
Full Day: Guruvayur Temple Circuit — Punnathur Kotta & Mammiyoor
Morning darshan at Guruvayoor Temple followed by a visit to Punnathur Kotta — the temple elephant sanctuary that houses many of the Guruvayur elephants. Afterward, visit the nearby Mammiyoor Mahadeva Temple, an important Shiva shrine closely associated with Guruvayoor traditions. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Highlight: Witnessing the elephants and participating in temple rituals (subject to temple timings and permissions).
Palayur St. Thomas Church & Coastal Shrines Excursion
After breakfast, take an excursion to Palayur St. Thomas Church — one of the oldest Christian centres in India, believed to have been established by St. Thomas the Apostle. Continue to nearby coastal shrines and peaceful beaches (e.g., Chavakkad Beach) for reflection and relaxation. Return to Guruvayur for evening rituals.
Note: Palayur is a short drive and makes for a rewarding interfaith pilgrimage experience.
Guruvayur to Thrissur — Vadakkunnathan & Thiruvambady Temples
Check out after breakfast and drive to Thrissur (approx. 30–45 minutes). Visit Vadakkunnathan Temple, a UNESCO-listed style landmark known for its classic Kerala architecture, and Thiruvambady Temple, central to Thrissur Pooram traditions. Explore Thrissur town's spiritual landmarks and cultural heritage. Overnight in Thrissur.
Tip: If you prefer, include an optional evening visit to Guruvayur for a final darshan (subject to time).
Departure via Kochi — Optional Chottanikkara Temple Stop
After breakfast, check out and drive toward Kochi for onward departure. En route, you may opt for a visit to Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple (subject to timing) — a significant Devi shrine near Ernakulam. Transfer to Cochin International Airport / Ernakulam Railway Station for your onward journey.
Important: Airport/rail transfers included as per schedule. Do inform us of your flight/train timings for smooth drop-off.
