Itinerary
Arrival, Sunset at Fort Kochi & First Photo Walk
Arrive at Kochi (Cochin) and transfer to your hotel in Fort Kochi. After checking in and a brief rest, enjoy an easy-paced walking photography walk around Fort Kochi. Key subjects: the dramatic Chinese Fishing Nets at the waterfront, colonial lanes, and street murals. End the day with a sunset shoot at the promenade and an orientation briefing with your guide on photographic opportunities for the next days.
Tip: Carry a wide-angle lens for landscapes and a 50–85mm for candid street portraits.
Mattancherry, Jew Town & Spice Market Photography
Spend the morning in Mattancherry exploring the Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace) and the colorful Jew Town lanes with the Paradesi Synagogue. Photograph local spice stalls, antique shops and atmospheric courtyards. After lunch, enjoy a relaxed golden-hour shoot at Marine Drive or catch fisherfolk activity around Ernakulam if time permits.
Photography note: Low ISO and tripod use are recommended inside dimly lit heritage interiors where permitted.
Transfer to Alleppey & Houseboat Backwater Cruise
Drive to Alleppey (Alappuzha) after an early breakfast. Board a traditional houseboat by late morning/early afternoon and begin cruising the palm-fringed canals. Photograph the changed light on the water, village life along the banks, and stilted fisher nets. Enjoy an onboard Kerala-style lunch, relax and prepare for sunset photography from the deck.
Special note: The houseboat night offers unique dawn and dusk light—set alarms for the pre-dawn mist and colourful mornings.
Village Life, Fisherfolk Portraits & Beach Sunset
Disembark mid-morning and meet local fishermen and coir-makers for guided photography interactions (respectful candid and portrait sessions arranged). Explore small backwater channels by country boat and capture close-up details of nets, boats, and coir work. In the late afternoon drive to Marari / Alleppey Beach for beach and sunset seascape photography.
Important: Always ask for permission before close-up portraits; small tokens of appreciation go a long way.
Sunrise Shoot, Final Portfolio Review & Departure
Begin with an early sunrise session on the backwaters or beach (depending on mood and weather), followed by a relaxed review of your photographs with the guide — tips for post-processing and exporting for prints. After breakfast complete check-out formalities and transfer to Kochi airport/railway station for onward travel. End of services.
Departure note: If you’re extending your stay, we can arrange extra time in Alleppey or return transfers to Kochi.
