Arrival, Transfer to Gangtok & Leisurely Evening
Arrive at NJP (New Jalpaiguri) Railway Station or Bagdogra Airport. Private transfer to Gangtok (approx. 4-5 hours) with scenic stops en route for photos and refreshments. Check in to your spacious family suite, relax and acclimatize. Evening at leisure — stroll along MG Marg for shopping, local snacks, and views.
Tip: Keep warm layers handy — evenings can be chilly even in summer.
Gangtok: Monasteries, Viewpoints & Local Culture
A relaxed day exploring Gangtok's cultural highlights. Visit Rumtek Monastery (one of Sikkim's most important monasteries) and Enchey Monastery, then stop at the Tashi Viewpoint for panoramic vistas of the Himalayan range. Explore the Directorate of Handicrafts and Sericulture for local art, and visit the Flower Exhibition Centre if in season. Return to the hotel for family time and optional in-house activities.
Note: Gentle walking and short steps are involved; suitable for children and elder family members.
Tsomgo Lake & Baba Harbhajan Mandir (Optional Nathula Pass)
Full-day excursion to Tsomgo Lake (Changu Lake) — enjoy the serene glacial lake, family photos, and short yak rides (optional, pay locally). Visit the sacred Baba Harbhajan Mandir nearby.
Optional: Proceed to Nathula Pass (subject to permit & availability) for an iconic border experience. Nathula requires an extra permit and may be closed on certain days (typically Mondays & Tuesdays) or due to weather — inform us in advance if you wish to include it.
Drive to Pelling — Scenic Route & Village Walk
After breakfast, drive to Pelling (approx. 4-5 hours) through picturesque landscapes and tea gardens. En route, stop for panoramic views of the Teesta Valley and local villages. Check into your roomy suite in Pelling and enjoy a gentle guided village walk or tea garden visit in the evening.
Tip: Carry sun protection for daytime walks and a light jacket for evenings.
Pelling: Pemayangtse, Khecheopalri & Skywalk
Explore Pemayangtse Monastery, one of Sikkim's oldest monasteries with striking architecture and spiritual ambiance. Visit Khecheopalri Lake (a sacred wish-fulfilling lake) and Rabdentse Ruins for a mix of nature and history. Enjoy the Pelling Skywalk and a relaxed evening watching the sunset with views of Kanchenjunga.
Family-friendly pace with short walks; great for photography and cultural learning.
Return Transfer & Departure
After breakfast, check out and drive back to NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport for onward travel. Depending on your departure timing, stop en route for lunch and final souvenir shopping.
