Itinerary
Arrival & Introduction to McLeod Ganj
Arrive at Dharamshala / Gaggal (Kangra) Airport or Pathankot Railway Station. Transfer to McLeod Ganj and check into your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a gentle orientation walk on the McLeod Ganj Mall Road and visit the serene Tsuglagkhang — Dalai Lama Temple Complex including the Tibetan Museum. Evening at leisure with a welcome dinner featuring local Himachali or Tibetan cuisine.
Special note: Early arrivals may opt for a short rest before the afternoon activities. Acclimatize to the altitude (approx. 2,100 m).
Bhagsunag & Local Folk Evening
Morning visit to Bhagsunag Temple and the refreshing Bhagsu Waterfall. Walk through the pine-lined lanes to the ancient Bhagsunag Shiva Temple. After lunch, visit St. John in the Wilderness Church and explore small Tibetan art shops and bookstores. In the evening, attend a curated Kangra folk music and dance program (subject to availability) to experience local traditions up close.
Tip: Carry comfortable shoes for short walks and a light jacket for the cool evening.
Norbulingka Institute, Kangra Fort & Jwala Ji Pilgrimage
Full-day cultural and pilgrimage excursion. Start at the Norbulingka Institute to witness Tibetan arts, thangka painting, and woodcraft; opportunity to visit workshops and the serene gardens. Continue to the historic Kangra Fort to explore ancient architecture and panoramic valley views. Conclude the day with a visit to the sacred Jwala Ji Temple, one of the most venerated Hindu pilgrimage sites in the region known for its eternal flame.
Important: Jwala Ji is an active pilgrimage site — dress respectfully and be prepared for crowds during festivals.
Palampur, Baijnath Temple & Andretta Artist Village
Drive to the lush tea gardens of Palampur, enjoy panoramic views of terraced tea estates and visit a local tea factory. Proceed to Baijnath Temple, an ancient and important Shiva shrine dating back to the 12th century — a notable stop for pilgrims. On the return, explore Andretta Artist Village to meet potters and painters, and see traditional Kangra paintings.
Tip: Photography is allowed generally at tea gardens and artist studios — always ask permission before photographing artisans at work.
Triund Day Hike & Sunset Views
Early morning guided hike to Triund (moderate 4–6 hours round trip depending on pace). The trail climbs through oak and rhododendron forests with sweeping views of the Dhauladhar range. Enjoy a picnic lunch with panoramic vistas; descend by late afternoon and relax back in McLeod Ganj. Evening at leisure to shop for Tibetan handicrafts or attend an optional Tibetan cooking class.
Note: Triund involves uphill walking; participants should be in moderate fitness. Carry water, sunscreen, and layered clothing. This can be made an optional easier day with a shorter viewpoint walk for less active guests.
Departure — Local Markets & Farewell
After breakfast, enjoy free time for last-minute shopping on Mall Road or a short visit to any missed local spots like small monasteries or cafes. Check out from the hotel and transfer to Gaggal Airport / Pathankot Railway Station for onward travel.
Tip: Confirm your transfer time in advance and allow buffer time for mountain traffic.

Cab Replacement Confirmed While We Were Still Panicking
We were halfway through our Himachal trip — somewhere between Manali and Kasol — when our cab driver suddenly said he couldn't continue due to a family emergency. My wife and I had no idea what to do. Called our TourGrids coordinator immediately and within 40 minutes a replacement cab was confirmed, driver details shared on WhatsApp, and we barely lost two hours. No extra charge, no runaround. The entire Himachal itinerary had been planned around our pace as a couple, hotels were proper good, and check-ins were always pre-informed. But that one moment on the road showed us what actually separates a good travel company from a random aggregator. Will be back for the next trip.
Woke Up to Perfect Hotels Every Single Morning
Honestly, the properties TourGrids picked for our Himachal trip were the real highlight. My wife and I were a bit skeptical about handing over hotel selection to someone else, but every stay — from Manali to Kasol — was proper good. Clean rooms, decent views, breakfast included without any last-minute surprises. The cab arrangements were equally solid. Driver showed up on time each day, knew the mountain roads well, and never rushed us. Whatever we flagged on WhatsApp, the coordinator sorted on call within the hour. No confusion at checkouts, no hidden charges. For a couple planning a hill trip without wanting to micromanage every detail, this worked out really well.
Himachal Itinerary Built Exactly Around Our Dates
I'd been putting off planning a Himachal trip with my wife for almost a year because coordinating everything felt overwhelming. A friend suggested TourGrids, so I messaged them on WhatsApp. Within a day, someone from the team called and actually listened — I told them we wanted less crowded spots and more flexibility on rest days, and they built the itinerary around that. No generic package. Cab timings, hotel preferences, altitude concerns for my wife — all noted and reflected in the final plan. Pricing was transparent, no hidden charges at checkout. The whole booking process took maybe three days total. Really did not expect it to be this straightforward.
