Itinerary
Arrival in Guwahati, Kamakhya Temple & Riverfront Evening
Arrive at Guwahati (LGB Airport/railhead). Meet and assist at arrival and transfer to your hotel. After refreshing, visit the iconic Kamakhya Temple — one of the foremost sites in any North-East Pilgrimage tour package. Spend time absorbing the spiritual atmosphere and panoramic views over the city.
Later, stroll along the Brahmaputra riverfront at Umananda/Neptune Point or enjoy a short cruise (seasonal). Evening at leisure with an optional visit to Local markets (Fancy Bazaar) for handicrafts and tea purchases.
Important tip: Dress modestly for temple visits; carry water and a light shawl if traveling in winter. Check our North-East FAQs for more practical travel tips.
Guwahati to Kaziranga — Enroute Sightseeing & Evening Cultural Program
After breakfast depart for Kaziranga National Park (approx 4-5 hours). Enroute, visit historical sites like Hajo (if time permits) — a multi-faith pilgrimage spot. Arrive at Kaziranga, check into your wildlife lodge.
In the evening enjoy a guided nature walk or a cultural program at the lodge showcasing Assamese Bihu dance and tribal music — a perfect complement to this North-East travel guide package.
Note: Road transfers include comfort stops; carry binoculars and a light rain jacket during monsoon months. Read our guide on Northeast India Cultural Etiquette before you travel.
Early Morning Safari & Afternoon Tea Estate Visit
Start pre-dawn for an unforgettable elephant safari (core zone) or an early jeep safari into the heart of Kaziranga — prime opportunity to spot the Great One-horned Rhinoceros, wild water buffalo, swamp deer, and diverse birdlife.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and rest. Post-lunch, visit nearby tea gardens and a small-scale tea factory near Golaghat/Jorhat for a guided tour: learn to pluck, process and taste authentic Assam tea. Explore more things to do in North-East to plan your time well.
Evening at the lodge with an optional documentary or nature talk.
Tip: Elephant safaris require prior permits — these are arranged by the package provider. Wear neutral-colored clothing for safaris.
Second Safari / Birding and Transfer to Tea Estate Bungalow (Jorhat Area)
Early morning jeep safari or birding walk in the buffer zone of Kaziranga — ideal for birdwatchers seeking species like the Bengal florican, kingfishers and migratory waterfowl. Return for brunch and check out.
Drive to a picturesque tea estate bungalow near Jorhat (approx 1–2 hours). Afternoon guided estate stroll, interact with tea-plucking teams and learn about traditional Assamese lifestyle. Relax at the bungalow with tea-tasting and a traditional Assamese dinner.
Special note: Tea-bungalow stays are often limited in number — early bookings recommended for this popular North-East Pilgrimage package add-on. Check the best time to visit North-East to plan your trip around the ideal season.
Return to Guwahati & Departure
After breakfast at the tea bungalow, drive back to Guwahati (approx 5–6 hours). Enroute photo stops at scenic viewpoints and optional visits — depending on your flight/train timings, visit Sualkuchi (silk village) for handloom shopping.
Reach Guwahati and transfer to the airport/railway station for your onward journey. End of the 4 nights / 5 days North-East tour package.
Important: Flight/train timings determine how much sightseeing is feasible on the final day. We recommend booking evening departures if possible. Stay connected throughout your journey with our Northeast India Internet & Mobile Coverage guide.

Recent North-East Reviews
Every Hotel in North-East Was a Surprise
We had low expectations from the accommodations honestly, because North-East trips can be hit or miss with properties. But whatever TourGrids picked for us — from Gangtok to Tawang — every hotel was proper good. Clean rooms, decent views, breakfast included, no last-minute downgrades. My wife was genuinely impressed, which doesn't happen easily. The cab arrangements were equally solid. Same driver for most legs, punctual, comfortable vehicle, no random handoffs mid-trip. Transfers between states were pre-planned and the coordinator shared timing details a day before each leg. No confusion, no waiting around with luggage. We spoke maybe three times on call before booking and everything discussed was actually delivered. That part still surprises me.
Our North-East Coordinator Replied at Every Hour
We were four friends traveling to North-East for the first time, and honestly none of us had any clue about how things work in that region — permits, connectivity, the whole thing. The coordinator TourGrids assigned us, Deepak, was available on WhatsApp practically round the clock. Every small doubt got answered before it became a problem. One evening our cab was running late and he sorted it on call within minutes, no drama. Hotels were proper good — nothing felt like a downgrade. The itinerary covered Meghalaya and Sikkim without feeling rushed. No hidden charges popped up at the end either, which was a relief. Genuinely felt like someone was looking out for us the entire trip.
North-East Itinerary Built Around Our Pace
We had been going back and forth on the North-East for months, unsure where to start. A friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, one call with their team changed everything. They asked the right questions — how many days, whether we wanted offbeat places, our budget — and came back with an itinerary that actually made sense for a couple like us. We tweaked a couple of things over WhatsApp and they adjusted without any fuss. Hotels were proper good, cabs were on time throughout, and there were no surprise charges at the end. The coordinator was reachable the whole time. Planning something this detailed on our own would have taken weeks.
North-East on a Budget, Zero Compromises
I had priced out a North-East trip on my own last year and it was getting complicated fast — different vendors for cabs, hotels scattered across booking sites, no one to call if something went wrong. TourGrids bundled everything into one package and it actually came out cheaper. Traveled with my husband for 8 days covering Meghalaya and Sikkim. Hotels were proper good — clean, well-located, nothing felt like a budget compromise. Meals, cabs, even the permits were sorted. Our coordinator was reachable on WhatsApp throughout and there were no surprise charges at the end. What you see in the quote is what you pay — that alone made it worth it.
North-East Cabs and Stays Both Impressed Us
We did a North-East trip as a couple — Meghalaya, Kaziranga, and Majuli — and honestly the hotels TourGrids picked were proper good. Not just decent, but actually well-located with clean rooms and good breakfast. I was a little skeptical before booking because we had specific preferences, but the coordinator noted everything down on our WhatsApp call and got it right. The cab transfers between destinations were the part I was most worried about, given those roads, but the drivers were punctual and the vehicles were comfortable. No last-minute confusion, no being dropped at the wrong property. Everything was where it was supposed to be, when it was supposed to be.
