Gangtok to Lachen — Drive via Chungthang
Depart early for Lachen (approx. 6–7 hours). Scenic drive via Tista River, Singtam, and Chungthang, with panoramic mountain views. En route brief stops for photos and refreshments. Arrive in Lachen, check in to a luxury mountain retreat. Evening at leisure with a warming local dinner.
Gurudongmar Lake & Chopta Valley Excursion (Full Day from Lachen)
Early morning departure for the iconic Gurudongmar Lake (altitude permitting). Spend time soaking in the surreal landscapes and pristine waters. On return, visit Chopta Valley if time permits. Back to Lachen for dinner and overnight. Gurudongmar is at high altitude; carry woolens and acclimatize well.
Lachen to Lachung via Chungthang — Scenic Transfer
After breakfast, drive to Lachung with stops at scenic points and waterfalls. Cross Chungthang and enjoy valley vistas en route. Check in to a luxurious riverside resort in Lachung. Evening at leisure — perfect for a quiet couple's walk along the river.
Yumthang Valley & Zero Point Excursion (Full Day from Lachung)
Full-day excursion to Yumthang Valley — the 'Valley of Flowers' — and onward to Zero Point (subject to permit and seasonal accessibility). Enjoy hot springs at Yumthang and a picnic amidst alpine meadows. Return to Lachung for a cosy dinner. Zero Point access may be restricted in winter; alternative is additional time in Yumthang.
Lachung to Gangtok — En Route Sightseeing
Drive back to Gangtok. En route stop at Mangan (district headquarter) and scenic viewpoints. Check in at your Gangtok hotel. Evening free for leisure or an optional cultural show.
Optional Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion or Leisure Day in Gangtok
Choose between a scenic day trip to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir (subject to permit) or a leisurely day exploring boutique cafes, local markets, and a couple's spa. Evening special candlelight dinner at the hotel (on request, supplement applies). Tsomgo & Baba require permits and are seasonal; plan accordingly.
Departure — Transfer to Bagdogra/NJP
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Bagdogra Airport / NJP Railway Station for your onward journey. En route photos and a final view of the mountains. Safe travels!
