Itinerary
Arrival and Transfer to Anuradhapura
Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your driver-guide. Drive north to Anuradhapura (approx. 4–5 hours). Check into your hotel and relax. In the late afternoon visit the serene Isurumuniya or take a gentle orientation walk around the city. Early arrival recommended to recover from travel.
Explore Anuradhapura — Sacred City
Full day exploring the ancient monastic complex of Anuradhapura: pay homage at the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi (the oldest historically documented tree), see the colossal Ruwanwelisaya, Thuparamaya, Jetavanaramaya, and the archaeological museum. Drive to Polonnaruwa — Medieval Capital
After breakfast transfer to Polonnaruwa (approx. 2–3 hours).
