Itinerary
Arrival in Srinagar — Houseboat Welcome & Shikara on Dal Lake
Arrive at Srinagar Airport and transfer to a traditional houseboat on Dal Lake. Enjoy a leisurely shikara ride on Dal Lake at sunset and a welcome briefing with your guide. Evening free to relax or stroll along the lakeshore markets.
Key activities: check-in, shikara cruise, local market walk.
Tip: Keep luggage light for trekkers and carry a warm layer for evening breezes on the lake.
Dachigam Wildlife Excursion & Srinagar Mughal Gardens
Early morning transfer to Dachigam National Park for a guided wildlife drive focusing on spotting the endangered Kashmir stag (Hangul), Himalayan birds, and endemic flora. Return to Srinagar for lunch then visit the Mughal Gardens — Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh.
Evening: cultural dinner on the houseboat.
Important: Dachigam entry requires prior permits; we handle permits in this package.
Transfer to Gulmarg — Gondola & Alpine Meadows
Drive to Gulmarg through scenic valleys. On arrival, take the iconic Gulmarg Gondola (Phase I & II) to the alpine heights. Short guided treks from the top station to explore meadows, wildflowers, and panoramic views of the Pir Panjal range.
Optional: for adventure seekers, arrange summer skiing or mountain biking on request.
Note: Gondola timings depend on weather; the guide will advise early reservations.
Gulmarg to Sonamarg — Thajiwas Glacier Walk
Depart Gulmarg and drive to Sonamarg. On arrival, enjoy a short trek to Thajiwas Glacier, a family-friendly glacier walk with fantastic photo opportunities. Evening at leisure in Sonamarg.
Tip: Carry waterproof shoes for glacier approaches and expect colder temperatures near the ice.
Drive to Pahalgam — Betaab & Aru Valley Introductions
Morning drive to Pahalgam, the gateway to many famed treks. En route, stop at Betaab Valley and Aru Valley for short walks, riverside views, and picnic spots. Check in at Pahalgam and brief on the next day's trekking options.
Evening: gear check and acclimatization.
Note: Pahalgam is a high-altitude meadow area — stay hydrated and avoid heavy exertion on arrival.
Full Day Trek from Pahalgam — Baisaran or Sheshnag Options
Choose between two guided trek options:
- Baisaran Meadow (short, family-friendly): a 3–4 hour round trek to a high green plateau with sweeping valley views.
- Sheshnag / Chandanwari (moderate): longer day trek along the Lidder River leading to glacial lakes and alpine scenery.
Both options include packed lunches and wildlife/plant interpretation by the guide.
Tip: Wear sturdy trekking shoes and bring sun protection. Weather can change quickly in the mountains.
Second Day at Pahalgam — Optional Multi-Day Trek Start or Local Exploration
Option A (trekkers): Start a controlled multi-day trek from Pahalgam toward higher meadows (guided, campsite or guesthouse support). Option B (leisure): Explore local villages, visit Lidder River banks for angling/photography, or short walks to nearby viewpoints.
Evening: local cuisine tasting and storytelling with villagers (if homestay organized).
Important: Multi-day trekking requires prior fitness confirmation; our team provides porters on request.
Pahalgam to Daksum / Kokernag — Forest Trails & Waterfalls
Drive toward Daksum with a stop at Kokernag—known for botanical gardens and springs. At Daksum, enjoy forest walks, see the confluence of streams, and visit nearby Sinthan Top viewpoints if conditions permit.
Evening in a cozy forest lodge with a campfire (seasonal).
Tip: Daksum provides excellent birdwatching opportunities; carry binoculars.
Lolab Valley Exploration & Return to Srinagar Departure
Drive to the remote Lolab Valley for a day of off-the-beaten-path exploration: meadow walks, village interactions, and chances to spot Himalayan fauna. Afternoon transfer back to Srinagar for final shopping on the way and transfer to the airport or houseboat for departure.
Note: Depending on your flight schedule, we can extend or compress this day; ask about add-on nights or transfers.

Kashmir Cabs and Rooms Both Left Us Speechless
We had been putting off a Kashmir trip for two years, mostly because neither my husband nor I trusted random operators. A friend suggested TourGrids, and honestly, the decision paid off. The hotels they booked — especially the houseboat in Srinagar and the resort in Gulmarg — were proper good, well above what I was expecting at that price point. What really stood out was how clean and prompt the cab transfers were. Every morning the driver was already waiting, no delays, no confusion about routes. The team sorted everything on call before we even landed. No surprise charges either, which matters a lot when you're travelling as a couple on a fixed budget.
Our Kashmir Coordinator Never Left Us Guessing
We booked our Kashmir trip through TourGrids for our anniversary, and honestly the coordinator assigned to us — Rahul — was the real reason everything went well. Right from the planning stage, he was available on WhatsApp at odd hours, patiently answering every small question my husband and I had. When our Srinagar hotel had a room issue on day two, he got it fixed within the hour without us having to chase anyone. The itinerary was properly planned around what we wanted — not some copy-paste package. Hotels were proper good, cabs were always on time. No surprise charges at the end either. That kind of support genuinely makes a difference when you're travelling somewhere new.
First Time Trusting a Company With Kashmir
I'll be honest — booking a full trip through a travel company felt risky to me. My husband and I had always planned things ourselves, so handing over Kashmir to someone else was a little nerve-wracking. But TourGrids genuinely surprised us. Our coordinator Priya was available on WhatsApp throughout, answered every anxious question without making me feel like I was being annoying, and the itinerary she built around our dates was actually thoughtful — not just a copy-paste package. Hotels were proper good, cab driver was punctual, no hidden charges when we settled up. The whole trip just... worked. That kind of reliability is rare, and it means a lot when you're travelling somewhere as beautiful as Kashmir.
