Itinerary
Arrival — Transfer to Kandy & Evening Temple Visit
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo) or Colombo city and transfer to Kandy (approx. 3–4 hours by road). Check in to your hotel and relax. In the evening visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) to witness the evening puja/ceremony — a highlight of any Sri Lanka Pilgrimage package. Enjoy a relaxed stroll around Kandy Lake and sample local cuisine.
Important: If you arrive late, the Temple visit can be scheduled for the next morning. Wear modest clothing for temple entry.
Kandy Cultural Immersion & Botanical Gardens
Full day exploring Kandy's cultural and natural highlights. Start with a guided visit to Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya — renowned for orchids and giant ficus trees. Return to Kandy for a city tour: Kandy Market, Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue viewpoint, and the historic streets surrounding the temple complex. In the evening enjoy an authentic Kandyan cultural dance performance showcasing traditional drummers and dancers.
Tip: Carry sun protection for the Botanical Gardens and wear comfortable shoes for walking.
Scenic Drive / Train to Tea Country — Tea Plantation & Factory Visit
Depart Kandy for the highlands: choose a scenic train ride (book in advance for a memorable experience) or a private road transfer to Nuwara Eliya. En route, stop at a working tea plantation and tea factory to learn about tea plucking and processing — a must for any Sri Lanka tour package. Continue through picturesque hill country, with photo stops at tea terraces and viewpoints. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya (often called 'Little England') and enjoy an evening walk around Gregory Lake.
Note: Train travel offers spectacular views but requires advance seat reservations during peak season.
Nuwara Eliya Morning & Return to Colombo / Departure
Start the day with a relaxed morning in Nuwara Eliya: visit Hakgala Botanical Gardens (optional) or explore the town, its colonial architecture, and local markets. After breakfast, check out and begin transfer back to Colombo or proceed to the airport for onward travel. Drop-off at Bandaranaike International Airport or Colombo city completes the 3 nights / 4 days Sri Lanka Pilgrimage package.
Tip: Allow extra travel time when returning to Colombo for traffic; if flying out, schedule flights in the late afternoon/evening where possible.

Recent Sri Lanka Reviews
Sri Lanka Cost Less Than My Own Research
I spent two weeks trying to plan Sri Lanka independently — comparing hotels, checking cab rates, reading forums. Then a friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, their package came in cheaper than what I was piecing together myself. My husband and I got a 6-night trip with decent 4-star hotels, all intercity transfers, breakfast daily, and airport pickups both ways. No hidden charges when we actually paid — the final bill matched what was quoted on WhatsApp. The coordinator was easy to reach and sorted our Kandy to Ella train booking without us even asking. Booking independently felt more flexible in theory, but this was just better in practice.
WhatsApp Replies Came Before I Finished Worrying
My wife and I were planning our first international trip together and honestly had no idea where to start with Sri Lanka. A friend suggested TourGrids, and after a couple of calls and a long WhatsApp chat, we were convinced. They assigned us a coordinator named Rohit who was genuinely on top of everything. Any small doubt — cab timing, hotel check-in, local sim — he'd reply within minutes, even on the day we landed in Colombo. No waiting, no vague answers. Hotels were proper good, itinerary covered Sigiriya and Ella without feeling rushed. Pricing was transparent from the start, no surprise charges at the end. Really glad we went with them.
Sri Lanka Cabs and Hotels Both Delivered
Traveled to Sri Lanka with my wife last month and honestly the hotels TourGrids picked were the highlight. Every property was well-located, clean, and a couple of them were proper resort-level — way better than what I'd have found scrolling online myself. The cab transfers between cities were also on point. Driver was always waiting at the right time, no confusion at checkpoints or ferry crossings. I'd spoken to their coordinator a few times on WhatsApp before booking and he understood our budget without us having to repeat ourselves. No surprises on arrival, no last-minute scrambling. For a couple's trip, that kind of reliability really matters.
