Itinerary
Arrival & Scenic Transfer to Nuwara Eliya
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo) or Colombo city. Meet and greet with your driver-guide and depart for the hill country. Drive through lush landscapes with photo stops at Ramboda Falls and panoramic viewpoints. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya — often called “Little England” — in the late afternoon. Check into your hotel and enjoy an orientation walk near Gregory Lake.
Tips: Carry a light jacket — evenings can be cool.
Horton Plains National Park: World's End & Baker's Falls
Early morning transfer to Horton Plains National Park (depart around 5:00–6:00 AM) to catch the best weather and visibility. Hike the park trail to World's End, a dramatic drop with sweeping views, and visit Baker's Falls. Spot highland wildlife such as sambar deer and endemic birds. Return to Nuwara Eliya for a relaxing afternoon. Evening at leisure — consider a stroll through the town or a visit to a local tea shop.
Important: Entry to Horton Plains requires an early start due to park opening hours and weather.
Tea Estates, Factory Tour & Nuwara Eliya Sights
Spend the day exploring the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country. Visit a working tea estate and tea factory to learn about plucking, processing and tasting tea. See the iconic colonial-era post office, Victoria Park, and panoramic viewpoints. Afternoon at Hakgala Botanical Gardens (optional). Evening free to enjoy a traditional Sri Lankan highland dinner.
Highlight: Tea tasting session included — perfect for fans of Ceylon tea.
Scenic Train Option or Drive to Kandy via Hill Country
Option 1 (recommended for photographers): Transfer to Nanu Oya station for the scenic train ride through tea terraces and tunnels (reserve seats) toward Ella/Kandy direction. Option 2: Drive to Kandy by road with stops at viewpoints and local markets. Arrive in Kandy in the afternoon, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) and enjoy a lakeside walk. Evening cultural show (optional).
Note: Train seats are limited — book in advance if choosing this option.
Kandy Morning, Departure to Colombo / Airport
Morning at leisure in Kandy — choose to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens (Peradeniya) or shop for Ceylon tea and handicrafts. After lunch, begin your journey back to Colombo or proceed to the airport for departure. End of the Sri Lanka Adventure package.
Optional: Extend your package with a wildlife safari to Yala or Udawalawe for more animal encounters.

One Phone Call Fixed Our Sri Lanka Plans
We were already in Colombo when our Sigiriya hotel cancelled on us — no reason, just a message the night before. My wife panicked, I panicked, but one call to our TourGrids coordinator and he was already on it. Within two hours he had us booked into a better property, same budget, no extra charge. What I appreciated most was that he didn't ask us to wait — he just moved. The rest of the Sri Lanka trip went exactly as planned: cabs were on time, itinerary had the right pace, no surprises on billing. We travelled as a couple and honestly, this was the first trip where I didn't feel like I was managing anything myself.
Sri Lanka Package That Made My Spreadsheet Pointless
I spent two weeks researching Sri Lanka hotels, cabs, and flights on my own before a friend suggested TourGrids. One call with their coordinator and they quoted me a full package — flights, hotel stays in Colombo and Kandy, cab transfers, and a few meals included — at a price that was honestly lower than what I was building myself. Traveled with my wife and everything was pre-sorted without any back-and-forth surprises on the ground. Hotels were proper good, nothing felt like a budget compromise. No hidden charges, no last-minute calls asking for extra money. What I appreciated most was the transparency upfront — they told me exactly what was and wasn't covered.
Sri Lanka for Two, Price Beat My Research
I had spent almost two weeks trying to plan Sri Lanka independently — comparing hotels, checking cab rates, calculating everything. Then a friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, their package came in cheaper than what I had roughly budgeted myself. Traveled with my husband for six nights and the package covered flights, all hotels, intercity transfers, and a few meals. Hotels were proper good — clean, well-located, no compromises. The coordinator was always reachable on WhatsApp and sorted our Kandy to Ella transfer details on a call before we even landed. No hidden charges at the end, which I was genuinely worried about. Felt like we got more than what we paid for.
Sri Lanka Hotels Were Far Above Our Expectations
We were a couple going to Sri Lanka for our fifth anniversary, and honestly the hotels TourGrids arranged were what made the trip feel special. From Kandy to Ella to Colombo, every property was well-located, clean, and genuinely comfortable — not just 'decent for the price' but actually good. The cab transfers between cities were the other thing I was nervous about, especially since Sri Lanka roads can be tricky. Every driver showed up on time, vehicles were AC and spacious, no last-minute confusion. Our coordinator Priya sorted all the details before we even landed. No surprises at checkout, no hidden charges. Trip ran exactly as planned.
Sri Lanka Cost Less Than My Own Research
I spent two weeks trying to plan Sri Lanka independently — comparing hotels, checking cab rates, reading forums. Then a friend suggested TourGrids and honestly, their package came in cheaper than what I was piecing together myself. My husband and I got a 6-night trip with decent 4-star hotels, all intercity transfers, breakfast daily, and airport pickups both ways. No hidden charges when we actually paid — the final bill matched what was quoted on WhatsApp. The coordinator was easy to reach and sorted our Kandy to Ella train booking without us even asking. Booking independently felt more flexible in theory, but this was just better in practice.
WhatsApp Replies Came Before I Finished Worrying
My wife and I were planning our first international trip together and honestly had no idea where to start with Sri Lanka. A friend suggested TourGrids, and after a couple of calls and a long WhatsApp chat, we were convinced. They assigned us a coordinator named Rohit who was genuinely on top of everything. Any small doubt — cab timing, hotel check-in, local sim — he'd reply within minutes, even on the day we landed in Colombo. No waiting, no vague answers. Hotels were proper good, itinerary covered Sigiriya and Ella without feeling rushed. Pricing was transparent from the start, no surprise charges at the end. Really glad we went with them.
