Arrival and Transfer to Negombo — Relax by the Lagoon
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo). Meet your driver and transfer to Negombo (approx. 20–40 minutes depending on traffic). Check in at your hotel and unwind after your flight. In the late afternoon stroll along Negombo Beach or the Negombo Lagoon and enjoy fresh seafood at a beachside restaurant.
Tip: If you have an early arrival, request a day room to refresh before heading out.
Drive to Tissamaharama — Gateway to Yala
After breakfast depart for the south-eastern region and Tissamaharama, the convenient gateway to Yala National Park (approx. 4–5 hours drive). En route stop for photos and a short visit to a local town or spice garden. Arrive, check in to your hotel close to the park, and relax. Option for a late afternoon jeep safari or a nature walk around the hotel grounds.

Full-Day Yala National Park Safari — Wildlife Highlights

Drive to Galle and on to Mirissa — Coastal Charm
After breakfast check out and drive west toward the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort. Spend time exploring the ramparts, boutiques and colonial architecture of Galle before continuing to the southern beaches of Mirissa (total drive time with stops approx. 4–5 hours). Evening at leisure on Mirissa Beach; enjoy sunset and seafood dinners.
Tip: Carry sunscreen and hat — coastal sun can be intense.
Beach Day in Mirissa — Optional Whale Watching
A flexible day to enjoy the beach and coastal activities. Early-morning whale watching (seasonal, Nov–Apr) is an optional highlight — book in advance. Otherwise relax on the beach, snorkel, or take a short trip to Coconut Tree Hill and local fishing villages. Evening free for local dining and sunset views.

Return to Colombo Area and Departure
