Langkawi Island Hopping and Cable Car
Langkawi is Malaysia's most popular beach destination for Indian travellers, helped by duty-free shopping and direct connections through Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Two experiences dominate every itinerary. The first is the island-hopping boat trip to Pulau Dayang Bunting, where a short uphill walk leads to a freshwater lake in a limestone basin known as the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden, followed by eagle feeding in the mangrove channels and a swimming and beach stop at Pulau Beras Basah.
The second is the SkyCab cable car at Oriental Village, Teluk Burau, which climbs Machinchang mountain to a top station at 708 metres. From there the curved SkyBridge, suspended over rainforest, gives views across to Thailand's Tarutao islands on clear mornings. The 3D art museum, SkyRex and other Oriental Village attractions fill the rest of the visit.
Dry season runs roughly November to March with temperatures around 27-33 degrees Celsius. September and October bring frequent afternoon showers, and boats occasionally do not sail. Sunset cruises with dinner, the Kilim Geoforest Park mangrove tour and Pantai Cenang's beach cafes round out most three-night Langkawi stays.
