Arrival in Kuala Lumpur & City Highlights
Land at KLIA and meet your driver for the transfer to your Bukit Bintang hotel. After check-in and rest, head out on a half-day city tour covering Merdeka Square with the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the National Mosque exterior, the King's Palace gates and the Petronas Twin Towers plaza for family photographs. End with the KL Tower Observation Deck for a sunset view over the city skyline. Dinner options in Jalan Alor and Little India in Brickfields include plenty of vegetarian and South Indian food, useful if children are fussy eaters.
Sunway Lagoon Theme Park Day
After breakfast, drive around 30 minutes to Sunway Lagoon in Petaling Jaya, a five-park complex with water slides, a wave pool, a wildlife zone, a scream park and the Vuvuzela funnel ride. Younger children have the Little Zimbabwe and Lost Lagoon shallow zones, while teenagers can try the bungee-style Go-X and the pirate ship. Carry swimwear, a change of clothes and sunscreen. Lockers and towels are available on hire. Return to the hotel by evening, with optional time for shopping at Pavilion or Berjaya Times Square.
Batu Caves & Departure
Check out and drive north to Batu Caves, where the 140-foot Lord Murugan statue stands at the base of 272 painted steps leading to the Temple Cave. Families with elderly members can spend time at the temples at ground level instead of climbing. The site is at its busiest during Thaipusam in January or February. Continue to KLIA or klia2 for your flight home, with a possible stop for last-minute chocolate and duty-free shopping depending on flight timing.
