Overview

The longest of our Malaysia honeymoon routes, built for couples who want highlands, heritage towns and islands in one trip. Cameron Highlands at around 1,500 metres brings tea estates, strawberry farms and 18-22°C days, a genuine change of climate from the coast. Penang delivers George Town's UNESCO heritage lanes and Kek Lok Si, while Langkawi provides two beach nights with the SkyCab and island hopping.

Melaka closes the trip with Dutch Square, Jonker Street and a river cruise, an easy two-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur airport on departure day.

Eight nights mean no more than one long drive per day and two full days each in Penang and Langkawi. February to April and June to August are the most reliable months. Includes honeymoon room decoration, one candlelight dinner and a couple photo session in Langkawi.

Itinerary

Day1

Arrival in Kuala Lumpur & Fountain Show at KLCC

Arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Bukit Bintang. Rest, then head to KLCC Park in the evening for the fountain show below the Petronas Twin Towers, followed by a walk through Suria KLCC. Dinner options range from vegetarian Indian food near Jalan Masjid India to satay and grilled fish at Jalan Alor. Honeymoon cake and bed decoration are set up in the room.

Day2

Kuala Lumpur City Tour, Batu Caves & Shopping

Morning tour of Merdeka Square, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, National Mosque, National Monument and Istana Negara, then Batu Caves with the 272 painted steps and Lord Murugan statue. Afternoon free for Pavilion KL, Lot 10 and Central Market, where batik and pewter make good souvenirs. Couples who want a skyline view can book the KL Tower Sky Deck or a rooftop bar in Bukit Bintang for the evening. Overnight in Kuala Lumpur.

Day3

Drive to Cameron Highlands & Tea Estates

Check out and drive roughly four hours north to Cameron Highlands, climbing through winding hill roads into tea country. Visit a BOH tea plantation for a walk among the bushes and a cup at the estate cafe, then stop at a strawberry farm and a rose or cactus garden. Check in at your hotel in Tanah Rata or Brinchang. Evenings here are cool, often near 15-18°C, and the night market at Brinchang is worth a browse for corn, steamed buns and hill vegetables.

Day4

Mossy Forest, then on to Penang

Early morning visit to the Mossy Forest boardwalk at Gunung Brinchang, where mist and moss-covered trees make for good photographs, then drive down to Penang, about four hours away, crossing the Penang Bridge to the island. Check in at Batu Ferringhi or George Town and keep the evening light: a walk along Batu Ferringhi beach and its night market, or dinner on Chulia Street in George Town.

Day5

Penang Heritage Day: Kek Lok Si & Penang Hill

Full day in Penang. Start at Kek Lok Si Temple with its Pagoda of Ten Thousand Buddhas and the bronze Kuan Yin statue, then take the funicular up Penang Hill for cooler air and island views. In the afternoon, explore George Town's UNESCO core: the Kids on Bicycle mural on Armenian Street, Khoo Kongsi clan house, Cheong Fatt Tze Blue Mansion and the Clan Jetties. End with tea in Little India on Lebuh Pasar before returning to the hotel.

Day6

Penang to Langkawi & Sky Bridge Sunset

Travel from Penang to Langkawi by ferry from Swettenham Pier or by a short flight, depending on schedules. Transfer to your hotel at Pantai Cenang or Pantai Tengah. In the afternoon, ride the Panorama Langkawi SkyCab up Gunung Mat Cincang and cross the Sky Bridge for wide Andaman Sea views. Return for sunset on Cenang beach, then your private candlelight dinner with a set menu.

Day7

Island Hopping & Kilim Mangrove Cruise

Morning island hopping by speedboat to the Lake of the Pregnant Maiden on Dayang Bunting, the eagle feeding bay and Beras Basah island. After lunch, board a boat at Kilim Geoforest Park for a cruise through mangrove channels, limestone cliffs, a bat cave and fish farms where you can hand-feed stingrays. A short couple photo session is arranged during golden hour on the beach. Overnight in Langkawi.

Day8

Fly to Kuala Lumpur & Drive to Melaka

Check out and fly to Kuala Lumpur, then drive about two hours south to Melaka. Check in and set out to see the red Dutch Square with Christ Church and the Stadthuys, climb St Paul's Hill for the church ruins and A Famosa gate, and take the Melaka River cruise past painted shophouses. Evening is for Jonker Street, busiest on weekend nights with its market, antique shops and Nyonya food stalls.

Day9

Melaka to Kuala Lumpur Airport & Departure

After breakfast and check-out, drive back towards Kuala Lumpur International Airport, about two hours from Melaka, with a stop at a Malacca Straits viewpoint or a coconut shake stall if time allows. Our representative assists with drop-off and airport formalities for your international flight home.
